Chapter 501
Odalyse heard the words but didn't look back. Some people weren't worth turning around for, nor did they deserve sympathy.
"Let's go! We need to find Freya," Odalyse said, continuing to eat as she jogged lightly toward the film set.
Percival followed, carrying the food. Seeing her excitement about meeting Freya, he felt a pang of discomfort.
"Does seeing her make you that happy?" Percival's deep, magnetic voice carried a trace of jealousy. He'd thought she was hurrying to finish the "battle" earlier to avoid trouble; it hadn't occurred to him her rush was all for Freya.
Percival didn't consider himself stingy, but he couldn't help feeling a pang of bitterness. He wished Odalyse would be this happy to see him.
"Of course! She's soft, fragrant, and beautiful. Who wouldn't like that?" Odalyse replied with a playful smile. Men would never understand the bond between girls.
Percival looked at her, captivated by her bright smile. Sunlight danced on her, accentuating her flawless profile. She seemed so full of life, nibbling on the sausage, her soft lips slightly parted. Percival swallowed and quickly looked away.
"What are you staring at? Hurry up!" Odalyse called.
Noticing his reddened ears and his attempt to avoid her gaze, she giggled. She jogged back, grabbed his wrist, and pulled him forward. Odalyse vaguely heard the extras whispering.
They shuttled through the crowd and quickly found the crew. From afar, they saw Freya holding her phone, removing her coat as she walked toward a trailer.
"Freya," Odalyse called, striding forward.
Freya seemed troubled, her gaze glued to her phone screen, her emotions in turmoil. She hurried into the trailer, speaking to Selah. "Did you see the trending news?"
"No," Selah replied, confused. She had just sat down when she noticed something was wrong with Freya and leaned closer out of concern. At the same time, Francis and Stellan, who had just finished filming a scene, entered the trailer. They sat in the air-conditioned space, reading their scripts, oblivious to their phones.
Hearing Freya's exclamation, they quickly pulled out their devices.
"Didn't Odalyse do a livestream earlier? She gave ten free readings. The first was about a woman whose brother-in-law cursed her child. The woman didn't believe it at first, but came back to the livestream to confirm it," Freya said bitterly.
Selah was stunned. "I know about that! Stellan and I were furious. That woman's thinking was completely illogical."
Stellan nodded.
"A mother with a severely ill child would usually be desperate to try anything. But this woman instinctively defended her brother-in-law, claiming he couldn't have harmed her child because he gave her money frequently," Selah explained. Later, she reluctantly followed Odalyse's advice, only to discover her child did indeed start to recover. That's when she went to Odalyse.

"Check out the trending news now. Odalyse ran into her just now. The woman brought her brother-in-law to corner Odalyse and even tried to force her to have a child with him!" Freya said angrily.
The other three were stunned, thinking they'd misheard. It was such an outrageous statement. That woman really bit the hand that fed her.
"No way! What kind of person does that?" Francis exclaimed, opening the trending news and clicking on the video. These videos, all clipped by fans during the livestream, were each only a minute long, but the conversations were so shocking they completely stunned everyone.
"Damn! Stellan and I were saying earlier that although she seemed pitiful, something felt off. She didn't seem like the kind of mother who truly cared for her child. Turns out we were right," Selah said angrily.
"Her child was ill, and instead of reflecting on her actions, she's blaming Odalyse? And now she's even trying to force Odalyse to have a child with her brother-in-law, just because he has money?" Selah stood up in outrage.
"Wait a minute. Doesn't Odalyse's location in the video look like Film Capital?" Francis said, watching the clips closely.
"Look at that hot dog stand. Isn't that the one by the entrance!" Stellan chimed in.
They exchanged glances and immediately rushed toward the door. Just as they opened it, they saw Odalyse about to enter.
Freya was caught off guard. She tumbled out of the trailer, falling straight toward Odalyse. Odalyse paused, instinctively reaching out to catch Freya. The force of the fall made her take a few steps back, but she managed to wrap her arms around Freya's waist, steadying them both.
Freya found herself in Odalyse's arms, her face buried in Odalyse's shoulder. Their bodies pressed tightly together, and for a moment, Freya could hear her rapid heartbeat. Completely stunned, she stayed frozen in Odalyse's embrace.
"Get up," Percival's icy voice cut through the air.
Startled, Freya quickly pulled away. When she looked up, she was met with Percival's cold gaze. She shivered.
"Percival!" Freya shrank back, her shoulders trembling. She hurriedly hid behind Odalyse, clutching the hem of her shirt.
Odalyse noticed her frightened demeanor and glanced at Percival with exasperation.
"You scared her," Odalyse said helplessly.
Percival remained quiet as he looked at the protective way she stood in front of Freya. His voice was low and slightly hoarse. "She's three years older than you. She doesn't need you protecting her."
Odalyse raised an eyebrow, surprised. She studied Percival; he sounded jealous. Thinking she might have misheard, she stared at him.
Percival coughed, clearing his throat. He spoke in a more serious tone. "She's already 23. She should be more independent. Look at her, clumsy enough to fall off a trailer."
"Falling is no big deal. But hiding behind you like this? What kind of behavior is that?" Percival added in a scolding tone.
Odalyse glanced back at Freya, and their eyes met. Both broke into knowing smiles and, without a word, ran back into the trailer together.
Percival expected a response, but instead, she grabbed Freya and ran off. He stood frozen as he watched them disappear.
After Odalyse got back into the trailer, Freya seemed to remember something and quickly ran out again. She hurried to Percival's side and reached for the bag of smoothies and snacks he was holding.
"Percival, you're way too serious! Odalyse definitely doesn't like that," Freya said in a low voice, as if worried someone might overhear. She glanced around to make sure no one was nearby. Then, leaning closer, she rose on tiptoes and whispered, "You've been married to her for this long. Don't tell me you haven't kissed her yet?"
Percival's ears turned bright red, and his Adam's apple bobbed as he struggled to respond.
