Chapter 502
Percival wanted to refute Freya's advice, but he knew she was right. He couldn't rush things; he wasn't trying to take advantage of Odalys. Plus, he'd heard her say she might die if she lost herself at the energy junction. Since then, he'd resolved to protect her, even if their relationship didn't progress further.
"Odalys's thoughts are quite simple, and after being stabbed in the back, she's understandably upset," Freya said. "Don't be fooled by her seeming indifference. Women need comforting. In simple terms, it's about emotional value. You can't keep treating her like this. You need to take the initiative."
Percival listened attentively.
Freya continued, "For example, casually hold her hand when you walk together. If she doesn't pull away, you're in. Occasionally take her shopping, do things she enjoys, even ask her to a movie. Take her out to do things she wouldn't normally do. Make her feel like you occupy her time! Leave your mark on her life so that when you're not around, she'll think of you automatically. Capture her heart! Make her fall for you!" She finished with a wink and exaggerated gestures.
Percival's expression darkened. "How do you know so much at such a young age?"
"It's the scripts," Freya replied, a little smugly. "I spend all my time immersed in them. Filming a TV show is like dating, watching a movie is like dating! I'm already a veteran; I don't need to date anyone at this point!" She waved and ran back into her trailer.
Percival was about to follow, but his phone vibrated. He stepped aside to take the call.
"Mr. Stewart, Oliver has arrived at Bennett Villa," Callum reported. "However, the old man from the century-old tailor shop has been inside since last night. I've been observing from a distance. He's staying in Hannah's room, and Windsor mistakenly thinks they're having an affair! Hannah seems very afraid of him and hasn't resisted."
"The three Bennett brothers have just returned. Do you need assistance?" Callum asked.
Percival continued speaking, his tall figure standing in the sunlight, exuding an aura so powerful that several actors glanced his way, and some women even tried to approach him.
"No need," Percival replied. "Stay safe. Don't alert them yet. They're likely gathering to target Odalys. The Bennett family is at their wits' end. Keep an eye on who else they're contacting besides Oliver. Focus on Windsor and Hannah's alliances. Find out who abandoned Odalys years ago—that's crucial."
"Got it. I'll stay hidden and adapt as needed," Callum responded.
Percival, still uneasy, reiterated, "If you sense danger, retreat immediately."
"Yes," Callum replied and hung up.
As Percival turned back to his trailer, two tall women approached, smiling brightly. "Are you here for filming too?" one asked. "Excuse me, can we exchange numbers?"
They'd spotted him from afar, noticing his extraordinary temperament and wealth. His presence without a costume implied he was an investor or wealthy heir.
A flicker of displeasure crossed Percival's eyes. "I'm sorry, I'm married," he said coldly. He walked past them into his trailer.
They watched him enter his car and stared at the license plate. "Isn't this Freya's car? Could she be secretly married? There were rumors she had someone backing her, that no one in the industry dared to take advantage of her."
"You can't be serious. How could such a handsome man fall for her? Is she his sugar baby?" the other woman asked.
Before they could finish, Percival emerged, his tall figure imposing. He stared at them coldly. "I dare you to talk more nonsense again," his icy voice warned. The women shrank back, unable to meet his gaze. "If you want to ruin your careers, feel free to keep spreading rumors. But you'll deal with the consequences." He slammed the trailer door shut.
The women were terrified. Percival's aura was overwhelming. They'd encountered wealthy people before, but none possessed his forceful presence. He was clearly powerful, not just wealthy.
"I didn't say anything," one stammered, fleeing.
Inside the trailer, Percival heard Freya's angry voice. "That woman has no self-awareness! She killed her son and then tried to blame you."
"Odalys, I just saw the livestream. It seems like she's dead! Some people are saying she fell and was impaled," Selah said in disbelief.
"It was karmic retribution," Odalys replied, her voice tinged with regret. "She was bound to face calamity. I warned her today. Don't be blinded by money! Money is her downfall. Everyone's fate is determined, and greed only leads to ruin. She was destined for a tough life, but if she'd given her son's life back, she would have had smooth sailing. Her son was born with a fortune that would benefit her, but unfortunately, she chose money over her son."
There was sorrow, but everyone made their own choices. Greed led to a dead end.
"What will happen to her brother-in-law's child?" Selah asked. "This woman's son is dead, and he had no one to borrow life force." Francis and Stellan also listened intently.
"The child was never meant to live," Odalys explained. "He was supposed to have died at birth, but he survived for many years, living with a borrowed life that wasn't his. His body can't handle it."
