Chapter 508

Freya leaned on Odalys's left shoulder, and the two stared at her phone screen. Odalys opened the message and was shocked to find hundreds more just like it. Unable to read them all, she restarted her phone and checked the most recent one.

"Wow, 3 billion?"

"From who?"

Freya and Selah were dumbfounded, scrolling up. Every message was a bank transfer record, ranging from 600,000 to 300 million. Her balance now totaled 3 billion.

"The Simpson family's account has been frozen, and their $1.5 billion needs to be transferred. I've initiated a transfer to your card. The remaining amount represents recent payments for other projects," Percival explained. "There are still many unsettled payments. I will transfer them all to you once settled."

Francis and Selah looked up abruptly, noticing Percival's unusual expression. He coughed, covering his mouth with his fist. "Well," he said, "from now on, you'll receive all the funding for those projects."

"Why me?" Odalys asked, confused and overwhelmed by the sudden influx of money.

"I'm usually too busy to shop with you, so just take this money and buy what you need. That way, I won't forget your 'pocket money' next time," Percival explained, then added, "Wow, 3 billion for pocket money, Mr. Stewart!" Freya teased, holding Odalys's hand and putting her arm around her shoulders. "Odalys, never refuse money from a man! The apartment we rented—let's buy it now!"

Odalys's eyes lit up. She was about to speak, but Percival looked away, his eyes evasive. "Thad Callum made that apartment yours a half-month ago," Percival said, his palms sweating. He'd done it without her permission, without even mentioning it. He didn't know if she was angry; he'd never done anything like this before and didn't know how to please her. He thought, I should have converted the money into rubies and put them under her bed. Maybe then she wouldn't be angry. This gave him an idea.

"Percival, what else are you hiding from me?" Odalys asked, stunned. Her busy schedule left little time for anything beyond work; she barely had time for shopping or socializing, relying on her friends for dinner.

"Wow! Doesn't that mean we've hit the jackpot! We don't have to pay rent anymore!" Freya exclaimed excitedly, dancing with joy.

"Nothing else. Wellthat property of Magic Entertainment belongs to Grandpa," Percival said suddenly.

Odalys held her breath and stared at him.

"I heard him mention to Dorian that he would give it to you as a birthday present. He must have transferred it to you on your birthday and forgotten to tell you," Percival explained.

Odalys remained silent.

Edie, who had been listening, was astounded. She was furious that he had transferred tens of billions of dollars to Odalys and given her the property. "Even that old man gave Odalys a gift? What about me? Why didn't I get one? You've never given me any birthday presents, and that old man doesn't even mention it! Why are you treating me so differently?" she demanded.

Percival ignored her, his gaze cold and dismissive. He signaled to two bodyguards, who immediately grabbed her arms.

"From now on, without my permission, don't let her near Odalys," Percival commanded coldly.

"Yes, sir," the bodyguards responded.

"Ah, Percival, let me go!" Edie cried, but the bodyguards dragged her away. Percival's men had cleared the area to prevent eavesdropping or harassment. Edie's voice faded as she disappeared.

"Just take it," Percival said, looking deeply into Odalys's eyes. Her silence spoke volumes. Accepting felt hypocritical, yet refusing seemed greedy. She nodded. "Okay."

"Oh, you have to treat us to a meal today! I'm hungry. I want a feast!" Freya said, waving her fist.

Odalys raised her hand gracefully. "Let's go have a big meal."

As she spoke, she saw the producer approaching. Zachery sprinted towards her, panting and wiping sweat. "Thank you," he gasped. "Yesterday I slapped that man as you instructed. My wife and I went to your Magic Entertainment. She said the uncomfortable feeling disappeared afterward. We had a good night. I took her to the hospital this morning, and the baby is doing well. The doctor said it was strange—no sign of miscarriage, no need for special treatment anymore," the producer said, tears in his eyes.

"Don't let your wife go out recently, not even for appointments, or her godfather will come to her again," Odalys advised. Oliver was not doing well and would resort to extreme measures.

"Yes, I'll call her now," Zachery said, taking out his phone.

"You should move," Odalys said. "Your place isn't a good environment for a baby."

"Okay, I'm on it!" Zachery ran off.

"Let's go eat," Odalys said, waving her hand. Stellan and Percival followed, discussing work. Francis made a reservation.
