Chapter 5

“Upon hearing Hannah's address, Edie clenched her fists, took a deep breath, turned toward the Film Capital, and declared, ‘Percival Stewart, you’ve left me no choice. Wait till I get pregnant with Evander’s child and return. Don’t blame me for kicking you out of the Stewart family then! You’re just his grandson. What if he has a new son!’”

She reflected on Evander’s immense grief since his son’s death. If he were to have another child, he would undoubtedly focus all his hopes on the baby, leaving the Stewart property's fate uncertain. Edie felt no guilt about marrying Henry. Marriage held little significance for her; divorce was always an option. Her reasons for marrying into the Bennett family were different.

Her desire to claim the Stewart family's assets remained, as did her intention to rejoin the family. She believed that, once aligned with Hannah, persuading her to help seize the Bennett family's assets would be simple. This thought brought Edie relief. She was certain a brighter future awaited her if she severed ties with the Stewarts.

Edie’s eyes gleamed with ambition. Her first goal was to meet with Hannah immediately and, together, find a way to obtain the Love Spell from Sophia. Once her abnormal period ended, she believed possessing the Love Spell would grant her the power to manipulate Evander, ultimately giving her control over everything.

The plan was to have Sophia control Evander, just as Finnian had been controlled by the Love Spell, to eliminate Odalys. In high spirits, Edie hailed a taxi and headed to Hannah's address.

At the Film Capital, Odalys and her companions found a restaurant, requested a private room, and entered.

Selah, curious, asked, “Odalys, why suggest the Love Spell to her? She’s been menstruating for thirty years. Shouldn’t she see a gynecologist? It's safer to see a doctor. The Love Spell isn't necessarily good; misused, it could backfire.”

Odalys explained, “Her unusual physiology could be a health issue requiring medication. However, judging by her expression and abnormal behavior, she must have taken many medications or used many talismans, severely damaging her body. Coupled with prolonged exposure to negative energy, her physiology must have been affected. While the Love Spell can reverse her condition, my true aim is to manipulate her into confronting Sophia. If she seeks the Love Spell, Sophia will be wary. This wariness, along with other Bennett family members desiring the spell, will breed hostility, ultimately shattering their bond. For years, Sophia has kept the Love Spell secret, proving her unwillingness to share it. Once they want it, it threatens her interests, and she will protect herself fiercely.”

“In her current state, she can’t leave the Bennett family. She had a difficult time previously and eventually recovered by consuming Atlas’s heart blood. This dependency is addictive, and I long to witness their breaking point—the stifled resentment, the unwilling reliance—until their true natures are revealed.”

Everyone else was dumbfounded. They had thought Odalys only wanted revenge on Edie and to play tricks on her.

“But what if Sophia gives in?” Freya asked anxiously. “The worst thing is losing everything, so there’s always a plan B.”

Odalys took a sip from Percival’s drink and said, “She won’t give in. She’ll insist the Love Spell is hers alone and won’t share it. And now that she’s recovered, she’ll be even more resolute.”

Odalys said, “Oliver is at Bennett Villa, right? We saw Brandon there during filming; they must be together! And since Windsor is also there, it sounds like a reunion!” A smile touched Odalys’s lips, her good mood fueled by the thought of their past conflicts.

“I’ve recovered all the antiques Edie took, and her apartment is sealed. She can’t access the building, so she’ll have to return to Bennett Villa,” Percival interjected, supporting her plan, confident in Odalys’s assessment.

“But what if she rents a place elsewhere?” Francis asked anxiously. His unease grew.

assets, and transferred them back to the Stewart family. Edie completely obeyed them and wouldn't dare disobey them, so she wouldn't rent a place elsewhere. She would be severely punished. She cherished her life and would never risk his control; this was no exception.

Francis said cheerfully. His face was full of smiles. He had obviously forgotten the day's events.

“You seem happy. Have you made plans for this evening?” Selah dampened his enthusiasm.

Hearing this, Francis’s demeanor tightened. “I need to use the restroom,” he said, feeling a sudden urgency. “Will you come with me?” He looked at Selah.

“This muddle of the day? Why are you afraid to go to the bathroom?” Stellan asked, standing. “Come on.” Francis quickly followed.

“You and Freya can come over tonight, but make sure you’ve showered,” said Odalys.

There was a knock. An assistant entered with a revised script, explaining that the screenwriter had made last-minute changes. After taking the script, the actors exchanged glances and headed to the next room for rehearsal. Odalys and Percival were

“Why are you transferring so much property to me?” Odalys asked.
