Chapter 549
"No wonder Odalys left immediately after treating the girl's wounds," Celeste thought.
Odalys added, "Unless she doesn't want to live anymore and insists on preserving evidence instead of stopping the bleeding. But just now, her chest was injured, causing breathing difficulties. If she hadn't received timely treatment, she would have died at the door. Even if we'd called the police, there's no evidence to arrest Sophia. The most important thing is that Sophia's fortune is wicked. She's hurt people before, but the police let her go because she was pregnant. It's said that bad people live a thousand years. There's some truth to that saying. Sophia is lucky; otherwise, she wouldn't be where she is today." Odalys finished her assessment.
Then she thought, "To deal with this kind of person, we have to torture her slowly, making her lose what she has bit by bit. We also need to seek justice for all the people she's harmed. Otherwise, people will feel indignant!"
"Her fans watched the livestream just now, so they might see you. Let your public relations team do something if you don't want your face exposed," Odalys reminded kindly.
Celeste waved her hand. She had kept a low profile because she didn't want to cause trouble for the Tillery family. She was different from Hannah, who was flamboyant and vain. She didn't need to show off because the Tillery family was so powerful and influential that its name alone intimidated others.
"It's okay as long as you won't get affected," Celeste said with a gentle smile.
Just then, her phone vibrated. After the call, she finished her coffee and got up. "Blossom is home, so I'll have to go cook for her. See you around," Celeste said casually. She grabbed her LV bag and waved to Odalys.
Evander rose to see Celeste off, and she didn't refuse his hospitality. It was an honor for guests if Evander personally saw them off.
"Evander," Odalys said in a low voice.
Hearing his name, Evander quickly stopped making coffee, looked at Odalys with worry, and softly asked, "Odalys, what's wrong?"
"The danger I mentioned may come soon. Don't dine out with your friends, and be wary of women lately," Odalys explained. "Hannah just asked you out. Don't go. I know you want to pump her for information, but Percival and I hate to see you risk your life. When necessary, stay home. Once something bad happens to you, the entire family may be in danger. You may be used as a tool to contend with Percival. For the sake of the Stewart family and Percival, be good, okay? Besides," Odalys hesitated, "the thing I brought back and buried under the tree won't wake up if you dig it up."
To prevent Evander from making a mistake, Odalys felt it necessary to be candid. She was afraid he wouldn't take her warning seriously. At such a moment, candor was helpful.
"Don't worry, Odalys, I'll do whatever you tell me." Evander was terrified.
Because of Odalys's warning, he decisively canceled his appointment with Hannah.
"Dorian," Odalys stood up and looked at Dorian.
Hearing his name, Dorian quickly turned and trotted toward Odalys. "Mrs. Stewart, what can I do for you?" he asked respectfully.
"From now on, stay around Evander and don't let him out of your sight. He can stay at Magic Entertainment or the Stewart Villa. No appointments with others, especially women. If he wants to go out, knock him out. I'll take responsibility for the consequences of this order," Odalys whispered.
Dorian was startled. Things were much worse than he'd thought.
"That woman just asked Mr. Stewart out. Something will happen if he keeps the appointment, right?" Dorian asked in a trembling voice. His mouth was dry, so he quickly took a sip of coffee to calm himself.
"People meet Evander when they need something, especially Hannah. She dumped me and wanted me dead, so what do you think she'll do to Evander? She tried to kill me, her daughter, so how will she treat Evander, an outsider!" Odalys said emphatically.
As expected, Dorian's face darkened.
"Don't worry, Mrs. Stewart, I'll remember your instructions," Dorian said.
Odalys turned, took a pack of powder from her kit, and handed it to Dorian. "Knockout drops. When necessary, you can use them to render Evander unconscious. He won't wake up for two hours," Odalys explained. Dorian's palms were sweaty. He hurriedly wiped his hands and took the powder.
After speaking with Dorian, Odalys secretly breathed a sigh of relief, but she still had a bad feeling.
"Evander, thank you again for helping me run my company. I have to go now," Odalys said to Evander with a smile. She walked over and draped a thin blanket over his shoulders, adjusting it before saying, "It's cold in winter, so you'd better wear a coat outside."
"Okay, okay. I'll do whatever you tell me." Evander's eyes were full of tears.
Evander was moved when Odalys draped the blanket over him. He wanted a daughter, but all the Stewart offspring were boys. After Odalys married into the family, his life seemed different; he had the feel and taste of home again. Before Odalys's arrival, he and Percival rarely ate at home, let alone had merry family dinners. He had been busy, and Percival a workaholic too busy to go home. Thanks to Odalys, Percival now tried to come home early.
"Okay, bye," Odalys said with a smile.
She walked away with her canvas bag, and Dorian hurried to see her off. Watching her leave, he clenched the powder in his hand. He felt the pressure.
"By the way," Odalys suddenly turned around and said to Dorian, "I cast a spell, so neither the Bennett family nor people with evil spirits can enter the company."
"I see," Dorian said. He suddenly understood why Hannah had failed to get into the company.
Thinking this, Dorian felt relieved; it was safe for Evander to stay at Magic Entertainment.
