Chapter 60

"Alright, let's go with this," Odalys said, walking out. Hearing this, Dorian quickly went to the kitchen. By the time he had prepared the meal, Odalys had returned, holding some herbs. She placed them in a basket beside him.

"Use three cups of water. Simmer it on low heat until it reduces to half a cup, then add this," Odalys explained, producing a small bottle and handing it to him.

Dorian looked at the herbs and took the bottle. His hands trembled.

"You should drink it twice a day. After three days, the kidney stones will soften. Just drink plenty of water to flush them out. Then, go back to the hospital to check if they've been fully cleared," Odalys said. Kidney stones, while seemingly minor, have claimed countless lives. They are difficult to break down and often regrow quickly, creating a vicious cycle that ruins lives.

"Alright, I'll go prepare it right now," Dorian said, taking the herbs and quickly returning to the kitchen.

Odalys sat down to eat. After finishing her meal, Dorian came out to clean up. She grabbed her car keys and headed for the door. Dorian hurried after her, saying, "Mrs. Stewart, the car's over there. The black one. Mr. Stewart said it's low-key and has great security."

"I know," Odalys replied, walking toward the car. Once inside, she opened the tracking system Finnian had installed on her phone. The screen blinked, confirming Finnian was monitoring her. She hadn't deleted the system earlier, knowing it would be useful. Now, she planned to use it to lure Finnian out.

Finnian's ambition was immense. He had always craved the Lark family's approval. That's why, before Odalys's time travel, he had driven her into severe depression. Now, she was going to take away what he valued most. "Tinnian [This appears to be a typo; presumably Finnian], just wait," Odalys sneered quietly.

Seeing the tracking system blink again, Odalys drove to the outskirts of the city, parking near an abandoned construction site. She made her way toward the building.

On the second floor, she saw a car speeding toward the site. From the balcony, she saw Finnian rush from the car. He was focused on his phone, tracking her. He looked up and saw Odalys, her back to him, leaning against a wall, seemingly deep in thought.

"Odalys, this time, there's no way you're escaping me," Finnian said through gritted teeth. Her cold attitude on the variety show had enraged him. If not for the recording, he would have punished her long ago. After his poisoning, her lack of concern, even seeming pleasure in his misery, had further frustrated him.

He stormed up the stairs. He saw Odalys and rushed forward, intending to embrace her, but froze when she suddenly looked up.

He stopped, watching as she swiftly turned and slapped him. Finnian staggered back, feeling something hot on his forehead. He touched it; his fingers burned.

"You… you!" Finnian stammered, shocked. He pointed at Odalys, but she stepped forward, unfazed. She lifted her foot and kicked him hard. He groaned, falling to the ground with a thud.

"Does it feel good to install that tracker?" Odalys asked coldly.

Finnian was terrified. His body swayed, feeling bound, unable to move. He tried to shift, but couldn't. Struggling, he yelled, "Odalys, you'd better face reality and let me go, or don't blame me for not protecting you. You're being forced to marry a dying man by the Bennett family. When he dies, do you really think the Bennett family will still accept you? A woman who killed her husband?"

An invisible force slapped him repeatedly. The pain made him grimace; his phone was snatched away. He cursed, "You bitch, give me it back!"

Before he finished, he saw Odalys dialing Selena's number. He broke into a cold sweat. He wanted to explain, but no words came out.

"Finnian, what did you just say?" Selena's sharp voice asked.

Finnian's mouth betrayed him: "What do I mean? What could I mean, you bitch? Just because you're the lady of the Lark family now, do you think I can't deal with you?"

"I'm going to bring you down. I'll stomp you under my feet, then hire some thugs to kill you. You've always looked down on me, haven't you? I'm a bastard, but so what? Once I'm done with you and your son, the Lark family will be mine!" Finnian's voice trembled with anger.

Suddenly, there was a loud crash, and something shattered on the other end. Faintly, Percival's voice was heard. Then, Finnian's father, Andrew's voice, cold and deep, said, "Finnian, how do you speak to your mother like that?" The phone was on speaker; Selena's furious curses could be heard.

Finnian continued, "Pah, mother? If it weren't for you, you shameless bastard, having money, would my mom ever have been your mistress! If you don't hand the Lark family over to me, I'll kill you sooner or later. I'm going to make sure you both die without a trace. You'll pay the price for everything, and the Lark family will only belong to me." His tears flowed.

He tried to bite his tongue to stop, but couldn't. His mouth felt controlled, forcing him to speak vile things.

"Finnian, get back here right now. If you don't kneel and apologize, from now on, I'll pretend I never had you as a son," Andrew said, his frustration barely contained. "You? Who do you think you are? When you die, I won't even kneel to you. Do you really think I want to be your son? What are you!" Finnian muttered. After Andrew spoke, he collapsed, seemingly paralyzed. Andrew's thoughts were frantic: It's over. My life is over.

"Fine, very well. From now on, don't come back to the Lark family. I have no son like you," Andrew said, ending the call. Finnian glared at Odalys, wanting to tear her apart.

Unhurriedly, Odalys dialed another number. Hannah answered weakly, "Who is this?"

After the accident, Hannah's leg was broken, her face badly burned, and her forehead wound oozed pus. She had fallen in the bathroom, scratching her face again. She felt despair.

"It's me. Finnian," he said. Finnian stared at Odalys, unbelieving. He didn't know her plan, but had a bad feeling.
