Chapter 75

“Your—” Henry gritted his teeth, his face flushed with anger, his veins bulging. He gasped for breath, as if on the verge of a heart attack.

“If you’re about to die, go to the hospital. Don’t cause trouble here. Besides, the surveillance here is poor. If you actually die here, I won’t be responsible,” Odalys said coldly.

This sentence enraged Henry; he almost stamped his foot. He stared at Odalys in disbelief, knowing she had done this deliberately.

He thought, Since leaving the Bennett family, this woman has become bolder. If I’d known, I would have left more evidence against her. But it’s too late now!

He dared not attack her at the Stewart residence; the bodyguards would kill him instantly.

“I’ll say it again. Are you coming to the hospital with me or not?” Henry said coldly.

Attempting to regain his dignity in front of the bodyguards, he watched as Odalys crossed her arms, looked at him intently, then turned and walked into the Stewart mansion.

“Odalys, come back here! Forget the hospital apology, but return the emerald pendant to Mom!” Henry shouted after her.

As he finished speaking, Odalys whirled around and lunged at him. She raised her hand and slapped him hard, using her full strength. He crashed against the car with a bang, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.

He covered his face in disbelief, never expecting her to strike him in front of the bodyguards.

Odalys said coldly, “How dare you demand the emerald pendant? Who do you think you are to threaten me? In the past, I called you brother out of respect. Now, the Bennett family means nothing to me! Do you really think you’re so powerful? The emerald pendant was a gift from my mentor. How dare you think you deserve it?”

She finished by delivering a powerful kick that sent Henry sprawling. He clutched his chest, nearly spitting out blood. His internal organs felt dislocated, the pain intense, leaving him prostrate on the ground for a long time.

Henry stared at her in shock. She was frighteningly calm.

“I’m warning you one last time. Don’t even think about threatening me. If you dare to be impudent again, I’ll kill you,” Odalys said.

She thought back to her previous life, when she was forced to marry in Sophia’s place, and refused. Henry, however, had watched like a venomous snake. When Sophia threatened Odalys, he had someone restrain her and even had her clothes removed. No one in the Bennett family had ever treated her kindly.

She had long seen through their ugliness and disgust. She would not be bothered by them; she would retaliate for their past actions.

“Good, very good,” Henry groaned, painfully crawling up, his legs trembling. He picked up his car keys and approached. Seeing Odalys raise her foot, he instinctively opened the car door and got in.

“If he dares to return, break his legs,” Odalys coldly instructed the bodyguards. The car window was down; Henry heard her clearly.

He gripped the steering wheel, watching as she turned elegantly, the bodyguard respectfully following.

“Odalys, just you wait. I don’t believe you’re not afraid of the Stewart family. I’ll make you pay dearly for this,” Henry gritted his teeth.

He watched with hatred as her figure disappeared, then saw the bodyguards slam the car door shut. At that moment, his phone vibrated.

Henry wiped the blood from his mouth. After a moment, he answered the call.

“Henry, how is it? Did you get the emerald pendant?” Hannah’s anxious voice filled the other end.

Without waiting for Henry to speak, she continued, “Demand the emerald pendant and her apology. Otherwise, she’s no longer my daughter. Even if she’s married into the Stewart family, she’s still a Bennett! If we disown her, the Stewarts won’t treat her well.” Hannah said confidently.

Regarding Odalys’s marriage into the Stewart family, she felt the Bennetts had been instrumental. Once Odalys lost their support, Hannah believed she would lose her status within the Stewart family.

“Mom, she didn’t give us the pendant,” Henry said impatiently. He was surprised by the outcome.

He felt Odalys had changed. Her temperament was different. In the past, she had endured everything, never daring to speak up, fearing being cast out. She had always tried to please everyone. Because they were certain she wouldn't leave the Bennett family, they'd done as they pleased. Now that she was married into the Stewart family, she was out of control. This powerlessness enraged him.

“Why won’t she give it to me? She’s given it to me before; it’s mine!” Hannah fumed.

She’d expected the emerald pendant’s return and planned with Sophia to force Odalys to give them the $300 million from the Stewarts. This plan had failed.

“She’s at the Stewart family; I can’t attack her! I’ll find someone to take it when she’s alone,” Henry said quietly.

His chest ached terribly; he felt his ribs might be broken. Any movement intensified the pain.

“No, we need the pendant today! It must be beneficial to the Bennetts; otherwise, why would we be in trouble after she took it? Oliver wouldn’t lie to us. Henry, no matter what, you must get it back,” Hannah insisted.

She added, “You can drug her.”

Henry hung up in frustration. He sat in the car, watching as the bodyguards approached. He was stunned, quickly lowering the window. He thought Odalys regretted her actions, but the bodyguard coldly said, “Drive away immediately, or we will blow up your car.”

The smile froze on Henry’s face.
