Chapter 79
"Who is this? She's so ugly," Freya blinked curiously, looking around the ward. She rubbed her hands and said, "Didn't you say Sophia was here? Did you hide? You're so ugly! You must be her nanny!"
Sophia, furious at being mistaken for a nanny, stomped her foot. Trembling with rage, she glared at Freya and the others. Her gaze finally settled on Odalys. She suspected Odalys was responsible for her current appearance; otherwise, there was no reason for her to bring Selah and Freya in the middle of the night.
"Odalys, you did this on purpose!" Sophia clenched her fists, tears of grievance streaming down her face. She bit her lip, indignant.
"That's not right. How can Sophia look so ugly without makeup?" Freya was stunned. Striding forward, she stood before Sophia, stared at her face for a moment, then quickly took a half-step back. "Oh my god, why has she aged so much!"
Sophia stomped her foot again. Selah, expecting a show, was also confused by Sophia's changed appearance.
"Are you really Sophia?" Selah asked, surprised. Leaning closer, she stared at Sophia for a long time. "You don't look like her. Your makeup skills are quite good," she whispered. Although everyone's appearance changed slightly with makeup, Sophia's transformation was far more drastic.
"Why does this woman have a crooked mouth?" Freya was curious. She pushed Sophia aside, strode to the bed, and looked from Hannah to Sophia. "So, this is your mother?" she said. "Your mother looks like this... no wonder you look like this too. I feel so sorry for you," Freya chuckled. While impolite to most, her words were unsurprising given her existing grudge against Sophia.
Hannah, furious, found her crooked mouth worsening. Her face twitched, her nerves feeling dislocated with anger. Saliva dribbled from her mouth; she quickly wiped it away. Odalys' cold stare made her scalp tingle.
"We heard you were hospitalized, so we came to visit out of goodwill. We didn't expect your mother's mouth to be crooked. In that case, we won't disturb you further," Odalys said with a low laugh. She studied Sophia's sallow face and altered bone structure, recognizing the effects of past injuries and magical enhancement that had been reversed. Odalys had broken the spell, causing Sophia's appearance to revert.
"Odalys, did you do something to me? Why are you doing this? I didn't do anything!" Sophia choked out.
Odalys chuckled at her fierce expression. "You didn't do anything? You've done too much. I didn't even know Lucian before he suddenly asked Selah to arrange a midnight meeting, and then tried to push me into the sea! You're not saying this has nothing to do with you, are you?"
Sophia's lips moved to speak, but Odalys tapped her forehead. Sophia felt a burning sensation and glared fiercely. "Yes, I did it. I tempted him to trick you."
As long as he kills you, you won’t be able to fight with me in the future. But why aren’t you dead? Why did you almost get me into trouble?
I'm the daughter of the Bennet family! No one can take my position. If you dare to compete with me, you will be ruined. I’ve already contacted some beggars to defile you. Then you won’t be qualified to fight with me anymore.
She subconsciously covered her mouth, realizing it was beyond her control. Her hand reached for her phone; intending to throw it, she instead made a call.
"Quickly call some beggars over," Sophia said sharply. The ward fell silent. Everyone stared, shocked by her apparent madness.
"It's you. You're the one who wanted to harm me," Sophia realized something was wrong. Even if she were foolish, she wouldn't say such things. It felt as though she was being controlled. She turned and went into the bathroom.
The sound of running water filled the silence. Sophia washed herself with cold water, but her voice continued, low and disturbing from the bathroom: "It's so comfortable. My damn body is amazing. Come and take a look. My chest is so big, and my butt is so big."
The ward door opened; Henry and Caspian entered. Sophia's words turned their faces pale.
"Come in and have some fun. Don't you want to see my chest and butt?" Sophia panted. Silence descended again.
Sophia slapped herself hard, regaining some rationality. She couldn't believe her words. Why did this happen? Why did I suddenly say what I was thinking? She'd always known she had a large bust and hips, using her figure to her advantage; it was her capital. Men were drawn to her. Yet, she had never voiced these thoughts.
"Why is this happening?" Agitated, Sophia's eyes rolled back, and she fainted.
Henry and Caspian heard a thud. Rushing into the bathroom, they found Sophia on the floor in a thin, wet dress, clinging to her body. Perhaps influenced by her repeated comments, their gazes lingered on her. Henry awkwardly turned off the shower; Caspian draped a bathrobe over her, picking her up and feeling her body pressed against his. He felt a sudden arousal.
