Chapter 92

Evander raised his leg, finding it moved again. He took a half-step forward in disbelief, realizing his broken leg was healed. Amazed, he hurriedly walked around the room.

“It’s actually healed!” he exclaimed, incredulous. He wouldn't have believed a talisman healed his leg if he hadn't seen and experienced it himself.

Odalys explained concisely, "This is temporary. The talisman speeds up bone repair. To avoid discovery, you must still wear a cast and use a wheelchair."

"The talisman's effect lasts only three months," she continued. "It provides protection; any magical attacks within that time will be deflected. After three months, your leg will revert to its previous state, and the talisman's effect will cease."

Evander, hearing this, raised his leg again, examining it with childlike fascination and pinching it. Percival watched silently, finding Evander's behavior childish. Evander treated his leg like a new toy.

"Thank you," Percival said hoarsely, his gaze complicated as he looked at Odalys. He'd only asked for her help; he hadn't expected such an easy solution to Evander's injury. Her medical skill far surpassed his expectations.

"You're welcome," Odalys chuckled. "I did it for the 135 gold bars."

Receiving that much gold—approximately $20 million at market value—was unexpectedly generous. She wasn't greedy, but the gold could be used to commission a statue, a gesture of goodwill she couldn't refuse. Besides, she didn't mind making money.

"You deserve it," Percival said in a deep voice.

Odalys turned to him, lowering her voice. "So, guess who could get close to you and your grandfather, poison you, and know your grandfather's birthdate, burying it under the old tree?"

Percival froze, his thin lips pressed together, eyes hardening.

"My uncle has been missing for years," he said, his voice icy, "and my mother is my only other relative."

This implied his father's death might be connected to his mother. He'd previously dismissed the possibility, suspecting his uncle instead. Even though his mother was flawed, he hadn't believed her capable of such actions. Apparently, he'd been too lenient in his judgment.

"Grandpa, how do you feel?" Odalys changed the subject, turning to Evander.

Evander, smiling and moving his legs, stared at the spot where the talisman had been. "Odalys, will this thing reappear?"

"No, it's invisible," Odalys replied, amused.

Evander nodded, quickly returning to his wheelchair. With a cold expression, he said to Percival, "Come help me put on my cast."

Percival looked at Evander with a complicated gaze; his attitude towards Evander and Odalys was markedly different.

"You two go ahead," Odalys said quietly. "I'll stroll around the courtyard downstairs."

She sensed they needed to talk privately and chose to remain uninvolved. The Stewarts' secrets were their own; she had no desire to intrude. Today, she'd helped Evander and treated his leg, a service rendered for a substantial fee.

Chapter 92 (Continued)

"Alright," Percival nodded.

Odalys went downstairs. A servant, seeing her, bowed respectfully. "Hello, Mrs. Stewart."

"Where's Percival's mother?" Odalys asked, confused.

The servant, startled by the question, replied timidly, "Mrs. Stewart went out after Mr. Stewart broke his leg. She hasn't returned."

"Does she not stay here often?" Odalys asked.

The servant, nervous, whispered, "She comes here occasionally."

Seeing the servant's timidity, Odalys clapped her hands, smiling. "Come, everyone!"

The other servants looked at her questioningly.

"Come and take these gifts. Mr. Stewart wants to thank you for my marriage," Odalys said softly.

The servants approached. The butler summoned the others. Odalys looked around. "Is everyone here? The bodyguards get gifts, too." "One person is missing; I'll get him," the butler said, leaving.

Everyone had witnessed Evander and Percival's deference towards Odalys, clearly accepting her as one of them—an important person.

"Come on, Mrs. Stewart is distributing gifts!" the butler called to a bodyguard outside.

The bodyguard hurried over. Odalys distributed small gifts, each surprisingly valuable. The servants and bodyguards were astonished. "Thank you, Mrs. Stewart," they chorused.

The servants realized the gifts were worth at least $3,000 each. While their salaries were good, such generosity was uncommon. They’d expected gifts worth a few hundred dollars at most.

Odalys handed the last gift to the butler. He was surprised to receive one, casually accepting it. "Mrs. Stewart, you're so generous. Mr. Stewart gave us a gift before."

"This is different. It's from me," Odalys said meaningfully.

Clapping her hands, she gestured towards a nearby pond. "Do you have roses here?"

The butler pocketed his gift. "Yes, Mrs. Stewart. Do you want some?"

"Go get me some," Odalys instructed.

The butler led servants to the pond, instructing them to pick the finest roses for Odalys.
