Chapter 35

Naomi stopped teasing Brendan after he didn't reply. She asked seriously, "Can I ask you something?"

"Yes," Brendan answered.

"Can you transfer Ronald back? He's about to go crazy if he stays there any longer."

"Can he still contact you? It seems we need to confiscate his phone."

"He's your cousin. Do you have to go that far? He's having trouble adapting and hasn't been feeling well."

"Why should I let him come back? To persuade you to get a divorce?"

Naomi was stunned, but quickly recovered. "So, you don't want a divorce? You should have told me earlier. You just need to give us a baby, then we won't get divorced."

Naomi's phrasing implied Brendan would be the one getting pregnant.

Brendan dismissed her. "Don't think about this anymore."

"What a party pooper," Naomi groaned.

Brendan retorted angrily, "I'm sorry, who's the party pooper again?"

"Me. I'm the party pooper," Naomi said dismissively. "But I'm not kidding. Please let Ronald return. Your uncle won't forgive you if anything happens to him."

"No."

"Why can't you listen to me?"

"Naomi, if you plead for him again, I'll make him stay there for another month."

Naomi fell silent.

After dinner, they returned to their upstairs room. A short time later, Brendan exited the bathroom, drying his hair. His eyes widened at a porn video playing on Naomi's computer screen.

"Naomi!" Brendan shouted, his face red with shock.

Naomi teased, "Are you done? I found a film for you to study. Otherwise, people will suspect you're impotent, and I'll be embarrassed."

"What do you want?" Brendan asked.

Naomi moved closer, grabbing his bathrobe belt. Leaning into his ear, she whispered, "My tummy's satisfied. Now I need to be satisfied."

Despite their earlier arguments, he had returned home without her asking.

Even if they separated, Naomi still wanted his baby; otherwise, their marriage would be meaningless, and their two years together wasted.

Brendan was about to push her away, but Naomi held him tighter, asking, "Brendan Ludwig, aren't you afraid I'll be lonely and find another man if you keep ignoring me?"

"Are you using reverse psychology?" Brendan scoffed.

"You think I wouldn't dare?" Naomi mocked.

As Naomi finished, Brendan scooped her into his arms, lightly tossing her onto the bed. Naomi's heart pounded.

Before she could hug him, he locked their fingers and pinned her beneath him. He wanted to sleep with her, especially after seeing her with Maximus earlier that evening. His desire intensified; he wanted to see Naomi moan and beg, regardless of her motives.
