Chapter 59
After Naomi finished speaking, Brendon began groping her chest. He seemed only interested in money. Naomi was sweating profusely. She grabbed his hand, saying, "You really have no shame!" She slapped his hand firmly and added irritably, "I'm exhausted. Stop bothering me." When Naomi said she was tired, Brendon stopped.
After a while, Brendon leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Naomi, let's talk." Naomi didn't respond. Brendon turned her over and found she was already snoring. He was dumbfounded.
Brendon turned off the lights and went to sleep with Naomi in his arms. They had chosen the guest room instead of their own. What nonsense!
"Mrs. Ludwig, they're here!"
Just as Naomi was dreaming of winning a lawsuit, the young maid's voice woke her. Naomi propped herself up, hand on her forehead, and asked, "Who's here?"
The maid replied, "Your mother has arrived, and Mr. Ludwig's mother is here too."
Naomi was dumbfounded. Did they have to come so early? She yawned. It seemed Brendon had taken advantage of her as well.
"Let them wait a moment!"
Naomi had barely spoken when Heather and Christine walked in. "Naomi," they said.
"Mom," Naomi greeted them, scratching her head.
Heather asked, "Where's Brendon?"
Naomi looked around. "Brendon? He should be at work."
As Naomi finished speaking, Brendon emerged from the bathroom, showered. "Mom, why is everyone here?"
Seeing Brendon, Heather immediately became angry. "It's all thanks to you, you troublemaker! Just wait and see how I'll deal with you!"
Heather scolded Brendon for a moment, then smiled at Christine. "Christine, I'll take Brendon aside for a chat. Please try to talk some sense into Naomi."
Before Heather had even fully woken up that morning, she'd received a complaint from Mason. He'd told her that Brendon wanted a divorce from Naomi for Chloe's sake, and that he'd already taken Chloe to Yellowind Bay the previous night. He claimed Naomi had agreed to the divorce.
Mason explained he'd spent the entire previous night trying to convince Brendon, but Brendon had refused to listen and had even arranged for Mason to assist Ronald in establishing Hope Elementary School.
As Mason complained, Heather felt her head about to explode. She immediately called Christine, profusely apologizing and inviting her to mediate.
Listening to Heather's explanation, Christine nodded solemnly. "Alright, Heather, leave Naomi to me."
Both women were focused on resolving the marital dispute, unaware that Brendon and Naomi had spent the night together.
As Heather dragged Brendon to the study, she grabbed a feather duster and began scolding him, whipping him with it. "You good-for-nothing son! Have you completely lost your mind? Not only do you fool around outside, but you bring them home now?"
"You're carrying the burden of the Ludwig family's sins!"
Brendon tried to shield himself, retorting, "Mom, have you thought this through clearly?"
After hitting Brendon a few times with the feather duster, Heather put her hands on her hips. "You think I haven't thought this through? Fine, let's clear things up. Did you bring someone home?"
Brendon remained silent.
Heather asked again, "Is it true that you refuse to have children?"
