Jayden averted his gaze from Eva, seemingly ignoring her. Eva, however, saw this as an opportunity. Having faced numerous challenges at Bayzee Group, she was determined to make a strong impression on Jayden in her new role.

“Mr. Owen,” she offered, intentionally baring her cleavage, “what coffee would you like for the meeting? I’ll prepare it.” She radiated confidence, sure of her ability to captivate any man. She was resolute in her determination to win Jayden over.

Jayden saw through her intentions. He abruptly left the meeting room, followed closely by Eva. In the elevator, he asked, "Did you recently graduate from college?"

Proudly, Eva replied, "Yes, I graduated from Princeton." Jayden's expression shifted, revealing a sudden understanding. He went to his office and began a video conference with overseas associates. Two hours later, the conference ended.

When Tobin, Jayden's assistant, finished his tasks, he returned to Jayden's office with a report. After Tobin finished, Jayden gestured toward Eva and asked, "Who authorized her to handle your tasks?"

Tobin glanced at the bewildered Eva and replied honestly, "She's an intern secretary. She excelled during her internship, so HR assigned her to assist me." Jayden nodded. "I didn't witness her excelling. Extend her internship."

Eva flushed with embarrassment, standing silently. Tobin immediately understood. He knew Eva must have done something to offend Jayden. He then escorted Eva from the office. In a stern tone, he asked, "Did you overstep any boundaries?"

Eva avoided his gaze and denied it. "No, I didn't." She had only attempted to seduce Jayden once. Why was he so upset? Could a man truly be impervious to her charms?

Tobin, having worked with Jayden for years and encountered many women like Eva, warned, "Stop deluding yourself. Provoking Mr. Owen will have dire consequences."

Eva maintained her confident smile, convinced Tobin was trying to intimidate her. Spending the morning with Jayden had solidified her belief that he was the perfect husband: wealthy, handsome, and charming. Dreams of marrying him filled her thoughts.

"Tobin," she asked, "what kind of woman does Mr. Owen prefer?" Tobin lost his patience. "Just go back to your desk!" Startled by his outburst, Eva meekly complied, hurrying into the elevator.

As the elevator doors closed, she regained her composure and muttered, "Why does Tobin act so superior? Once I finish my internship, I'll take his place." Determined to win Jayden's affection and exact revenge for her humiliation, she vowed to work harder and oust Tobin.

Meanwhile, Tobin resumed his work. Upon receiving news, he went to Jayden's office. "Mabel's new album has been removed from all online platforms," he reported. "The sound bites from the short video are also being scrubbed."

Jayden instructed, "Order them to blacklist Mabel. Any media or TV station that continues to associate with her will face consequences." Tobin, concerned, said, "But Mabel is your wife's sister. Won't this affect her?"

Jayden leaned back, his tone casual. "She's my wife. She'll follow my lead." Tobin was speechless. After a moment, he left.

Alone, Jayden checked Elyse's messages. Tobin's words lingered, but he remained unconvinced of the familial affection between Elyse and Lanny. He couldn't believe Elyse was Lanny and Glenda's daughter. Mabel, however, bore a striking resemblance to them.

Meanwhile, Mabel awoke in her hotel room, preparing for a variety show appearance. Her latest album had been a huge success, catapulting her back into the spotlight. Her schedule was booked solid for the next three months. She applied a face mask and ate a sandwich, enjoying her triumph.
