Chapter 431:
Fiona considered leaving but remembered encountering her savior around ten o'clock the previous night. She decided that waiting until ten o'clock that day might bring another encounter. After a moment's thought, she replied, "Around ten o'clock."
Gavin was surprised; Fiona had been unusually casual lately. He nodded reassuringly, saying, "Then I shall accompany you to assess your progress."
Fiona quickly interrupted, "No, I prefer to practice alone. Your presence would unsettle me."
Hearing this, Irving approached, concerned. "What's wrong? Tomorrow's a big day. Don't you want our guidance to address your weaknesses?"
Fiona felt less unsettled than Elyse and therefore didn't need their help. She simply said, "You both know my shortcomings. I won't hinder your progress."
After a pause, Gavin agreed to respect Fiona's wishes. He left after half an hour of quiet companionship, followed by Irving.
Fiona was alone in the studio. Enjoying her newfound freedom, she put down her violin and made coffee. Amidst days of intense practice, she cherished this simple pleasure.
At home, Elyse had dinner and went to bed. Tracy planned to tell Elyse she'd attend her performance the next day, but Elyse was already asleep. Instead, Tracy found Jayden in the living room and asked, "Will you watch Elyse's performance tomorrow?"
Jayden frowned. "No, I have a meeting at the Owen Group."
Confused, Tracy asked, "You're still with the Owen Group? I thought you'd severed ties."
Jayden was silent, aware the meeting would be difficult. His expression darkened, and after a long silence, he instructed, "Send her flowers from me tomorrow."
Tracy nodded. Thinking of Shaun's recent presence, she hesitated before asking, "Could you also arrange for two bodyguards to accompany me tomorrow? I'm afraid of Shaun."
Jayden nodded. "Of course."
Tracy breathed a sigh of relief. She'd avoided leaving the villa to avoid Shaun, but she could no longer stay away. Conveniently, Elyse had a competition the next day, giving her a reason to go.
At 1:00 a.m., Glenda arrived at a hospital's inpatient ward, wearing a black windbreaker, hat, and mask. Since Elyse had revealed her true identity, Glenda and Lanny had kept a low profile. Learning of Elyse's competition and her dedication, Glenda saw her opportunity.
Lanny still wanted to eliminate Dorothy. Even in her coma, he longed for her death; only that could bury the secrets of the past. As a beneficiary of those events, Glenda agreed.
Under the cover of night, Glenda secretly entered the hospital intending to kill Dorothy.
