Chapter 117

โ€œLisette, whatโ€™s going on?โ€

Lisette was causing quite a scene at the office, leaving Monty and Horatio baffled.

A crowd had gathered around Lisette, watching her in disbelief.

Usually, Lisette was the epitome of poise and maturity. She was well-liked at the company, and many thought of her as the perfect young lady, unlike the clumsy Calliope. But today, Lisette seemed to have lost her mind.

โ€œI am a frog!โ€ she declared repeatedly, even making ribbit sounds. Not stopping there, she grabbed peopleโ€™s green jackets, insisting on wearing them.

โ€œWhatโ€™s up with Lisette?โ€

โ€œShe looks so odd!โ€

โ€œShe was always so normal. Could she be having a breakdown?โ€

โ€œYeah, Lisette acting like this is just plain scary!โ€

The whispers and murmurs filled the room as employees kept their distance, but they were unable to resist the gossip.

โ€œWhat are you staring at?โ€ Monty shouted at the onlookers. โ€œDonโ€™t you have work to do? Get back to it!โ€

His outburst scattered the crowd as everyone pretended to be busy at their desks.

โ€œDad, Horatio, Iโ€™m a frog, ribbit! Hey, Iโ€™m a giant frog! Weโ€™re a family of frogs!โ€

Lisetteโ€™s antics were both worrying and comical as she flopped onto the floor, hopping around in her dress.

Some sneaky employees were already capturing the moment on their phones.

โ€œGet her out of here!โ€ Monty exclaimed as he and Horatio quickly grabbed Lisette and whisked her off to the chairmanโ€™s office.

Once inside, they settled Lisette onto the couch, and Monty let out a heavy sigh of relief.

Standing nearby, Horatio was about to speak when he suddenly felt his knees buckle, dropping him to the floor. โ€œHoratio, whatโ€™s wrong?โ€

Monty, wiping sweat from his brow, was alarmed at the sight of Horatioโ€™s unexpected collapse. His immediate fear was that Horatioโ€™s old leg injury had returned, condemning him back to a wheelchair.

โ€œIโ€™m fine,โ€ Horatio replied, bewildered. It felt as though his legs had momentarily lost all strength โ€“ just like when he used to be paralyzed. But the sensation vanished as quickly as it came, leaving him puzzled.

He recalled something Calliope once mentioned.

Could his legs be at risk again?

The mere thought of returning to those dark days was unbearable for him.

Just as Horatio contemplated whether to consult Calliope about her cryptic warning, Lisette sprang up from the couch again.

โ€œOh, my goodness!โ€ Monty clutched his chest, his frustration mounting.

โ€œLisette!โ€

Horatio rushed over, steadying Lisette. He felt her forehead and frowned. โ€œNo fever! Lisette, what on earth is wrong with you? Are you possessed or something?โ€

โ€œMaybe she is possessed!โ€ Monty exclaimed, tapping his knee. โ€œWho else would think theyโ€™re a frog? It has to be something supernatural!โ€

โ€œHoratio, take Lisette home. Iโ€™ll call your mom and have her get someone who can help.โ€

โ€œOkay.โ€

Monty immediately dialed Zelda.

Upon receiving the call, Zelda quickly made the necessary arrangements.

By the time Horatio got home, the master Zelda had contacted was already there, ready to assess the situation.
