Chapter 206
โSilasโโ Kelda carefully got to her feet.
โAre you going to come clean, or should I dig up the truth and show you the door?โ Silas looked at Kelda with a steady gaze. โI know my wife well enough. She wouldnโt do anything to you. Itโs you whoโs giving her a hard time, right?โ
โI, Iโฆโ Kelda felt a chill down her spine. โIโm sorry, Silas. I messed up!โ
โSorry to me?โ Silas questioned, arching an eyebrow.
โNo, not to you!โ Keldaโs eyes darted to Calliope, filled with fear. โCalliopeโโ
โHmm?โ Silas raised a brow.
โCallieโโ Kelda bit her lip, glaring at Calliope, but she didnโt dare say another word. She knew what kind of person Silas was. Even though her brother had sacrificed himself for Silas, earning her his favor, she understood Silas had his principles. Cross him, and she knew heโd not stand by her unconditionally.
From day one with Silas, she knew who he was. To stay in his good graces, she had to play her cards right and not overstep.
โCallie, Iโm sorry. I shouldnโt have thrown coffee at you or tried to frame you! Can you forgive me?โ
Calliope shrugged, mildly surprised at Keldaโs quick admission of guilt.
โYou think a simple โsorryโ should suffice?โ Silas asked coldly. โIsnโt that a bit too easy?โ
Keldaโs face froze. She peeked at Silas, pouting, and muttered, โThen what should I do?โ
โAgree to three conditions she sets,โ Silas replied.
โWhat conditions?โ Kelda asked, looking back at Calliope with mixed emotions.
โThatโs for my wife to decide,โ Silas said. โYou mess up, and you face the consequences. Can you handle that?โ Kelda puffed her cheeks, looking miffed at Calliope. โFine! What do you want me to do?โ
โI havenโt thought of anything yet, but Iโll let you know,โ Calliope said with a sly smile.
โExchange contact info. But donโt bother my wife unnecessarily. If she needs you, sheโll reach out,โ Silas instructed.
Kelda was displeased, but with Silas siding with Calliope, she had no choice but to comply and exchange contact details.
Once they were done, Silas had Kelda clean up the spilled coffee and then guided Calliope to the conference room.
Kelda tugged Faganโs sleeve confusedly. โWhyโs Silas taking her to the conference room?โ
โMost of the board members are here today, along with the top brass,โ Fagan explained. โI reckon Mr. Myers wants to introduce his wife to everyone.โ
He wanted to chuckle at how their usually aloof Mr. Myers had turned into a lovestruck fool. It seemed he was ready to give his heart and soul to his wife.
Still, Fagan trusted his bossโs judgment. Anyone he loved couldnโt be that bad.
โWhat?โ Kelda gasped. โSilas is going to introduce her to everyone?โ
