Chapter 286
But Calliope was just as quick. She barely moved, just a slight bend at the waist, a swift turn, and suddenly she had the opponentโs arm twisted.
Pop!
The guy seemed to get dislocated right away.
โWow, sheโs fast!โ
โCalliopeโs incredible!โ
โIt looks like sheโs got this in the bag, again!โ
Before the crowd could finish their awe-struck remarks, Calliope was already mixing it up with the rest of the group.
Bang!
Thud, bang!
Her dress didnโt move an inch. When she kicked, there was no risk of exposure; sheโd come prepared with leggings underneath. Despite wearing an evening gown, she fought with a grace and ferocity that left everyone stunned.
โSheโs amazing!โ
โOh my God, I think Iโm falling for her!โ
โWhy is the Jewell family not fond of Calliope? Sheโs impressive. Not to mention anything else, her fight is just amazing. Wow!โ
โSo skilled!โ
โWhere did she learn to fight like that?โ
โI suddenly feel the urge to become her disciple.โ
โGirls should take a page from her book and learn self-defense.โ
While everyone was busy chattering, Calliope had dealt with the remaining martial artists. After finishing them off, she even helped them back to their feet.
She then asked, โSo, did I win?โ
โWe lost,โ one of the guys admitted, clearly impressed.
With that settled, Calliope turned and headed toward Yara.
As she approached the crowd, one girl stumbled back a couple of steps and nearly fell. Calliope reached out and steadied her with ease, her hand gentle yet firm.
The girl blushed, utterly stunned.
โWow, she smells so nice!โ
โGoodness, how can someone be this cool and pretty? Her skin is flawless, even up closeโฆโ
By then, Calliope had reached Yara.
โSo, did I pass?โ she asked.
Yara shrugged. โYou won. I concede.โ
โDoes that mean I get to see my husband now?โ Calliope inquired, eager to reunite with Silas.
She wasnโt sure where Yara was keeping Silas, but she had prepared a backup plan with Damien and the others to rescue him. However, it seemed she might not need them after all, as long as Yara kept her word.
โFollow me,โ Yara said, leading the way.
Calliope followed behind.
Meanwhile, Uriah was already informing Silas.
[Silas, you lucky devil, your wifeโs coming to rescue you!]
Silas: [No need to be envious. You could try it yourself. See if your precious Mavis would come to save you in such a situation!]
Uriah: [Iโd rather not. Sheโd probably end up getting herself caught too.]
Calliope and Yara headed back into the main ballroom and then went upstairs.
As they reached the second floor, Yara paused. She glanced at Calliope and suddenly smirked, โYou do remind me of her.โ
โWho?โ Calliope blinked, puzzled. โWho do I remind you of?โ
โA woman. Someone Silas cares about deeply,โ Yara replied.
Calliope frowned slightly. She was somewhat aware of a woman from Silasโs past who had been significant to him. She tried not to dwell on it, but Yaraโs words stirred a hint of unease in her heart.
โDid you know her?โ asked Calliope.
โOh, so youโre aware thereโs someone in his heart?โ
