Chapter 365
Horatio was still in his wheelchair, looking utterly bewildered. โI definitely didnโt open this place. If I had, do you really think I wouldnโt have told you guys?โ
Everyoneโs eyes instinctively shifted to Valerian.
Valerian quickly waved his hands in denial. โIt wasnโt me either. I wouldnโt even know where to begin with a place like this.โ
Zelda and the two brothers turned their questioning gazes towards Monty.
โDonโt look at me like that! I have nothing to do with this club!โ Monty exclaimed, frowning. He glanced over at Zelda. โIt couldnโt be you, could it, honey? The little spending money I give youโฆโ
โIn your dreams! The money you give me isnโt even enough for my own expenses!โ Zelda shot back, clearly annoyed.
After her retort, it seemed like a light bulb went off in everyoneโs heads simultaneously.
They all turned to look at Calliope, but their eyes first landed on her pet, Million, sitting beside her.
Monty scoffed, โCome on, thereโs no way a pet opened this club!โ
Franco, who had been standing by, walked over to Calliope and spoke with exaggerated reverence. โBoss, thereโs a big shot coming in a few days. Heโs specifically asked to see you. Do you want to meet him?โ
โNo,โ Calliope replied, her tone nonchalant.
Franco nodded and then addressed the group with a smile. โLadies and gentlemen, this here is the true owner of Pearl Tiger Club. Our boss not only runs this establishment but also a chain of clubs globally. Sure, it might not seem like a huge deal, but weโre talking about an international business.โ
โSo when you say our boss canโt manage a business, I have to disagree. If she wasnโt capable, our club wouldnโt be doing so well! Oh, and by the way, just this clubโs revenue has already surpassed the Jewell Group. So, I must disagree with your assessment.โ
Monty and the others were utterly dumbfounded. They had speculated about everyone but never imagined Calliope could be the owner.
It seemed too far-fetched. To them, Calliope had always been a nobody, someone who never achieved anything.
And now, she was the owner of one of the most exclusive clubs in Capitalton, a place even they couldnโt easily get into.
The clientele here were all power players from the political and business realms. Rumor had it that the clubโs owner was incredibly influential, with connections that spanned the globe. Though mysterious, she was reportedly one of the wealthiest individuals worldwide.
How could this be possible? The supposed nobody they knew, could she really be this remarkable?
Monty and his crew forced a smile at Franco. โFranco, youโre joking, right? This is a pretty elaborate prank.โ
โPrank?โ Franco chuckled. โGiven the circumstances, itโs surprising you still think Iโm joking.โ
Valerian glanced at Calliope, shaking his head. โIf you told me anyone else owned this place, Iโd believe it. But Calliope? No way!โ
โIs that so?โ Franco shrugged, eyeing the Jewell family. โNo wonder the Jewell family finds itself in this situation. You canโt even see the truth when itโs right in front of you.โ
He looked over at Calliope.
Calliope simply said, โFranco, you can go. Itโs fine. I donโt need them to believe anything, nor do I need to prove anything to them.โ
She didnโt care one bit what the Jewell family thought of her. Anyway, their opinions didnโt affect her anymore.
