Chapter 407
Calliope and Silas never imagined that Gideon, not only drunk out of his mind, would start acting crazy right there in front of everyone.
Silas furrowed his brow slightly.
Calliope shot Gideon a warning look, her voice chilly as she said, โGideon, itโs time to cut it out.โ
โSorry, folks, Gideon just had a bit too much to drink!โ Gideonโs friends began apologizing to the crowd gathered around them, โPlease, donโt get the wrong idea, Gideon and his uncle Silas are close. Heโs just messing around!โ
Gideonโs friends werenโt too bad, actually. They feared the repercussions of a bad relationship with Silas on Gideonโs future prospects. So, some of them tried to hold Gideon back, while others attempted to explain the situation.
โMr. Myers, please donโt take it to heart. Gideonโs just excited about getting married tomorrow, so he went a little overboard with the drinks!โ
โEverything he said was just a joke! He wouldnโt dare joke like that if he didnโt have a good relationship with you!โ
โPlease, be the bigger person and donโt hold it against him!โ
โWeโll get him out of here right now!โ
They all flashed Silas apologetic smiles, frantically trying to smooth things over.
One of them clamped a hand over Gideonโs mouth, whispering urgently, โGideon, shut your trap already! Are you trying to get yourself killed? Thatโs your Uncle Silas, the one youโre terrified of!โ
โCome on, letโs get you home! Youโve got a big day tomorrow as the groom; you need a good nightโs sleep to be the dashing groom you ought to be!โ
Gideonโs friends were really doing their best, covering his mouth and trying to talk some sense into him. They were even considering carrying him out of there.
But Gideon, in his drunken state, wasnโt having any of it. Not only was he belligerent, but he was also surprisingly strong.
Suddenly, he bit down on the hand of the friend trying to silence him. The friend yelped in pain.
โLet go!โ
Once Gideon released his bite, the friend stumbled back a few steps, staring incredulously at his bleeding hand, tears springing to his eyes. He looked at Gideon in disbelief, then shouted, โForget it, Iโm done with you! Gideon, you turn into a rabid dog when youโre drunk, donโt you?โ
The other friends tried to calm things down. But Gideon kept causing a scene, shoving everyone away from him.
โIf youโre my friends, youโd help me win back my woman! Donโt hold me back!โ
โSilas, you think youโre some kind of hero by stealing my woman?โ Gideon turned to Silas with a cold glare, โWhat kind of man are you, taking a woman from your junior? Iโve kept my mouth shut for too long, but today Iโm telling the whole world.โ
โEveryone, come see! This man, Silas, the infamous Mr. Myers! Do you all know why heโs so wealthy? Do you know why he holds such high status and power?โ
โItโs because, as an outsider, someone not even related to the Baker family by blood, he was taken in and raised by my grandfather. And now heโs thanklessly taken everything from the Bakers!โ
โThe Baker Group rightfully belongs to the Baker family! Yet, heโs been hogging the Baker Group and never willing to relinquish even a bit of control to us!โ
โHeโs a heartless, shameless man, stealing from others, even taking my woman!โ
โJudge for yourselves, is he even human? Tell me, isnโt Silas too much?โ
Gideon continued his drunken rant, laughing bitterly as he addressed the onlookers.
The music in the bar had quieted down, and everyone was gathered around, even those on the second-floor balcony were craning their necks to catch a glimpse of the spectacle.
