Yvette shot a glance at Calliope, her eyes narrowing. “Someone’s coming over. Can we have a chat over here for a moment?”

“Calliope, you’re married to Silas. What gives you the right to come between me and Gideon! I’m warning you, I won’t let you off the hook! You can’t take Gideon away from me!”

“I’m going to make sure the whole world knows about your wicked ways! With this many people around, imagine if something happened to the baby I’m carrying because of you. How do you think people would see you?”

“I know Gideon might not care much about me, but he does care about this child I’m carrying. And Fleur, she cares a lot about this baby too! If anything happens to the baby because of you, how do you think the Baker family would react?”

Calliope remained calm, “The Baker family wouldn’t think much of it because they’d know your baby was never viable to begin with. Yvette, the embryo you’re carrying isn’t in good shape, is it?”

“Technically, the doctor advised you against keeping the baby, but you did it anyway, just to use it against me, right?”

Calliope’s gaze was steady and unwavering.

“I’ll give you one more chance. If you turn back now and return to the party, I won’t expose what you’re doing. But if you insist on going through with this, you’ll be the one who regrets it.”

Yvette paused for a moment, “You figured it out! Of course, you’re the Miracle Doctor, it makes sense you’d see through it!”

“I kept this baby just to use it against you! And I can’t let the Baker family know the baby has problems. But if you cause me to miscarry, that’s a different story! People always sympathize with the victim. If I fall now, can you really explain it away to everyone?”

Yvette chuckled softly.

“You’re playing a dangerous game.” Calliope’s face remained serene.

“You’re scared, aren’t you? Calliope, you’re scared, haha! Didn’t see that coming, did you!” Yvette laughed again, “Thanks to your sister, she gave me such a brilliant idea. No one knows my embryo’s in bad shape, only that you, Calliope, are the villain who killed my baby!”

“Hahaha, if they thought you did it for Gideon, do you think Silas would still be fond of you?”

Calliope stood still, watching Yvette’s performance with an impassive expression.
