Chapter 437
โCan you believe it? Calliopeโs actually at the company today. Whatโs going on?โ
โWhoa, is she here to take over the family business?โ
โHonestly, between the two of them, Iโd say Calliopeโs got more of a head on her shoulders. Ms. Lisette has been working for the company; she might seem competent, but Iโve heard sheโs been relying on her brothers for everything.โ
โYeah, I remember when Calliope was pushed out of the company, it was all a setup.โ
โYep, everyone knows it, but the president favors Lisette, so nobody says a word!โ
โStill, itโs kind of a big deal that Calliopeโs here.โ
โNot really surprising if you ask me. I heard the Jewell Groupโs in trouble, and theyโre desperate for her help.โ
โDidnโt she marry Silas? Plus, isnโt she known as the Miracle Doctor?โ
โExactly! Calliopeโs incredible. Did you catch that wedding yesterday?โ
โI did! It was absolutely stunning. She knew they were planning to smear her, so she came prepared!โ
โThe best part was her speech afterward. She organized everything flawlessly. Everyoneโs been singing her praises!โ
โYeah, sheโs all over social media now!โ
The office was buzzing with talk about Calliope. Nobody realized just how capable she was until recently. Her appearances at the reunion, wedding, and other events shot her into the limelight. With whispers about the Jewell familyโs dire straits circulating and them being desperate for Calliopeโs assistance, it wasnโt surprising everyone was speculating about her return.
Calliope made her way straight to the presidentโs office, and naturally, nobody dared to stop her. She looked radiant, exuding confidence in her sharp, professional attire. Already beautiful to begin with, her striking entrance left everyone in awe.
Inside the office, Monty was in the middle of a discussion with Horatio when he looked up and saw her. โWhat are you doing here?โ
His expression immediately shifted. He knew they needed Calliope to save the company, but the thought of giving her a large proportion of their shares and so much control made him balk.
Horatio frowned as well, and as Calliope entered, Valerian burst in, clearly having rushed over, still catching his breath. He glanced coldly at her.
โCalliope, youโre nothing if not ambitious. We hadnโt even reached out to you yet, and here you are, knocking on our door! I knew you have no good intention.โ
Calliope glanced at Valerian. โShould I leave, then? I was just here to see if youโd made a decision. But if Iโm not welcome, Iโll be on my way. Oh, and by the way, if you miss this chance, I wonโt be helping the company, Horatioโs legs, or Lisette ever again.โ
With that, she walked out without a backward glance, leaving Monty and the others in a state of shock.
โStop her! The companyโs in dire straits. Without her, weโre looking at bankruptcy! We need her!โ Monty gritted his teeth as he shouted.
She was his daughter, after all. Heโd use her for what she was worth and then figure out a way to regain control afterward.
