Chapter 442
โWhenโs the meeting?โ
โRight away!โ Monty exclaimed. โIโll have my assistant get in touch with the board members and the higher-ups. Letโs have it this afternoon. In the morning, you should stay here at the office, get familiar with the company and see where the issues lie. Iโll give you a quick rundown, and you can see if you have any solutions, alright? There are also a few clients who are in the picture just because of you. A phone call or a meeting with you, and theyโll be on board! Those things are easy to handle. Now that youโre back, Iโll arrange a press conference to introduce you tomorrow. How does that sound?โ
Calliope nodded. โSounds good, letโs do it your way.โ
โSo from now on, this office is mine?โ Calliope asked as she glanced over at Monty.
โItโs yours, do whatever you want with it,โ Monty quickly replied.
He wanted to make it up to Calliope and hoped that once she felt their love and trust, she might return the company to them. So for now, handing over the company and the office was no big deal.
โReally?โ Calliope uttered, nodding. โThen help me redecorate it to my taste. Iโll tell you what style I want later.โ
โSure, no problem!โ Monty agreed.
โBy the way, Callie, about Horatioโs legs, do you think we need to prepare anything? When are you planning to operate? Shouldnโt he do a thorough check-up at the hospital first?โ
Calliope glanced at Horatio.
Horatio spoke up, โIโm not in any rush. Do what you think is best. If they can be fixed, great. If not, itโs just my fate.โ
โThey can be fixed, but thereโs a risk,โ Calliope said. โI need to find time to take a proper look. Of course, treating your legs will require some specific materials, so itโs not going to happen overnight.โ
โWhat kind of materials?โ Valerian asked. โJust name them, and weโll get them.โ
Calliope looked at Valerian. โReally? Are you sure you can find them?โ
As she spoke, she picked up a pen from the desk and jotted down a list of materials. Handing it to Valerian, she said, โThese materials will take me at least a month to gather. If you can get them faster, that would be great.โ
Valerian, unfamiliar with the list, said, โIโll ask around.โ
After saying that, he glanced at Calliope, wanting to bring up Lisette. But before he could, Monty shot him a fierce look, silencing him.
โCallie, come sit over here. Iโll show you the companyโs situation,โ Monty gestured for Calliope to join him at the desk.
Horatio signaled to Valerian, and they both left the office.
Once outside, Valerian turned to Horatio. โIs it alright if I ask about Lisette?โ
โBring it up later. Lisetteโs fine for now,โ Horatio replied. โCallie has always had issues with Lisette. Weโve made mistakes, and if we mention Lisette now, sheโll think we only care about her. If you have time, head home and tidy up my room. Clear it out and redecorate it. Even if she doesnโt end up staying, let her know she still has a place in the family.โ
