Chapter 463
โCallie, we need to talk!โ
As soon as Fleur spotted Calliope, she reached out to grab her.
Calliope deftly stepped aside, dodging Fleurโs grasp. She gave Fleur a puzzled look. โWhat do we have to talk about? I donโt think we have anything to chat about.โ
โIโve got something really important to discuss. Just give me a little of your time.โ
Fleurโs face was a picture of urgency as she continued, โLetโs grab a coffee at that cafรฉ over there. Itโs on me!โ
Calliope glanced at Fleur, noting her desperate demeanor. She hesitated for a moment. Finally, she told Monty and the rest to go on ahead, while she headed to the cafรฉ with Fleur.
Once they were seated, Fleur wasted no time and ordered two cups of coffee. Then, she looked up at Calliope. โCallie, weโve known each other for years, and you and Gideon have a past. You used to be so in love with him.โ
โWhat are you implying? If youโre trying to appeal to my emotions, donโt bother. I have no feelings for him anymore.โ
Calliope leaned back calmly. She could sense Fleur was about to ask her for a favor. It had to be something regarding Yvette or Gideon.
Fleurโs expression was grim, and she pressed her lips together, as if steeling herself for what was to come.
โYou must know, Yvette might not be able to have children anymore! Youโre the Miracle Doctor, and even though you havenโt seen her, you must know her condition isnโt good after the miscarriage, right?โ
Her face was clouded with bitterness, and her eyes flashed with frustration.
โThat wretch, sheโs a real piece of work. She came into our lives and turned Gideonโs world upside down. Now that everyone knows about their marriage issues, no one wants to get close to Gideon! There were girls interested in Gideon, but whenever he got close, Yvette would lose it! Sheโs a lunatic!โ
Fleur was visibly shaking with anger. โShe canโt bear children, yet she swore Gideon would never have children with anyone else, threatened to murder any woman who dared get close to him! After getting married, she became extremely audacious!โ
Fleurโs face turned crimson, unable to unleash her rage. It was rare to see her so worked up. Clearly, Yvette had her in a tight spot.
Calliope, however, remained composed. When the coffee arrived, she stirred it slowly with a spoon, and then looked up, uttering, โSo, whatโs your point? You didnโt come just to vent, did you?โ
They werenโt exactly close friends. Calliope had once despised Fleur with a passion. So Fleurโs current predicament seemed like karma to her.
โCallie, your medical skills are incredible. Is there any way you could help Yvette conceive again? Yvetteโs been threatening me, saying if Gideon tries to have a child with someone else, sheโll make sure that kid never sees the light of day.
Sheโs causing chaos, and I canโt introduce Gideon to any other woman. If thatโs the case, why not help her have another child? She wouldnโt harm her own, right? Once she has another baby, and I have a say over that child, she wonโt be able to do anything.โ
Fleurโs eyes narrowed, a dangerous glint in them.
Calliope frowned at Fleur. โGiven her condition, itโs really difficult for her to conceive. Her body could be treated, but thereโs no guarantee it would fully recover, or that the situation would improve.โ
โI donโt care, as long as she can get pregnant!โ Fleur insisted, โIโll pay you. Whatever it costs, Iโll cover it!โ
