Chapter 474
โYou did say not to disturb you and Lisette,โ Calliope added.
Valerian paused, the realization hitting him like a ton of bricks. His face flushed with embarrassment.
โSorry, Callie, I must have misremembered!โ
โNo worries, Iโm used to it,โ Calliope replied with a shrug and a smile. โEven without your lessons, Iโve managed to play quite well. Sorry to disappointโI didnโt spend a lifetime failing to learn the piano.โ
Valerian was speechless.
โCallie, donโt be upset. Itโs all in the past!โ Monty quickly interjected, trying to smooth things over. โOh, by the way, Callie, weโve changed your room! The old one was too small and probably uncomfortable for you. Now you can have your brotherโs room. Itโs much more spacious and comfy!โ
โWant to go take a look? Weโve even redecorated it for you!โ Horatio chimed in, eager to please.
โSince itโs specially prepared for me, I guess I should check it out,โ Calliope said, following them to the room. Horatioโs former room was quite nice, with a large balcony. Back when she lived there, no one seemed to care that her room was the smallest and least convenient. But now, when she no longer wanted to live there, they decided to offer her something better.
They soon arrived at the room. Calliope glanced around the pink princessโthemed decor and chuckled. โWhatโs wrong? Donโt you like it?โ Horatio asked, sensing her lack of enthusiasm.
โItโs nice. Definitely Lisetteโs style. Sheโd probably love it,โ Calliope remarked.
โNo, Callie, itโs not! We prepared this for you!โ Horatio quickly explained.
Calliope gave him a cool look. โIโve never liked pink princess themes.โ
That was Lisetteโs favorite. They claimed they put effort into preparing a room for her, yet it reflected Lisetteโs tastes.
โYou donโt like it? Arenโt all girls supposed to love pink?โ Ulysses grumbled. โCalliope, are you being difficult on purpose? This room is big, and itโs designed the way they thought youโd like. What more do you want?โ
โReally? You assume I like it, so I must?โ Calliope asked incredulously, looking at Ulysses. โDidnโt you all think I deserved nothing all this time?โ
โUlysses didnโt mean it like that!โ Monty interjected, trying to calm the situation. โItโs fine, Callie. Just tell us what kind of room youโd prefer, and weโll make it happen.โ
โYeah, whatever you want, weโll do it!โ Horatio and Valerian chimed in earnestly.
Calliope watched them, her expression unreadable. Slowly, she said, โCan I see Lisetteโs room?โ Her question hung in the air, leaving everyone momentarily stunned. They exchanged uneasy glances. Calliope tilted her head slightly, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. โIs that a problem?โ
