Chapter 745

Sashaโ€™s eyes snapped to Lena, searching her face for any sign she was serious.

โ€œIf you want to see him, I can help,โ€ Lena said with a small, knowing smile. โ€œWell, not meโ€”Keira can help you.โ€

The moment Sasha saw Lena, sheโ€™d already guessed Keira was behind this. The second Keiraโ€™s name came up, Sasha let out a bitter laugh. โ€œKeira? Sheโ€™s barely keeping her own head above water.โ€

โ€œSpeaking of which, Keira wouldnโ€™t be in this mess if it werenโ€™t for you.โ€

Sashaโ€™s gaze faltered. โ€œWhat does that have to do with me?โ€

Lena didnโ€™t bother softening the blow. โ€œMs. Grey, letโ€™s not play games. Your daughter, Ninaโ€”sheโ€™s missing because you had someone take her. Isnโ€™t she?โ€

Sashaโ€™s face flashed with panic before she slammed her hand on the couch, anger flaring. โ€œWhat kind of nonsense are you spouting? Why would I kidnap my own daughter? Iโ€”โ€

โ€œYou wanted to use Nina to get to Ian Carter,โ€ Lena interrupted.

Sashaโ€™s lips quivered as she turned away, trying to deny it. โ€œI didnโ€™t.โ€

โ€œYou donโ€™t have to be scared. Iโ€™m not going to tell Thorsten,โ€ Lena said calmly.

โ€œThen whatโ€™s the point of saying all this?โ€ Sasha snapped.

Lena exhaled softly. โ€œLet me be clearโ€”Keira sent me. Sheโ€™s not doing well in there, and she wants out.โ€

Sasha scoffed. โ€œShe wants out? Then she should go to the police. What does she need me for?โ€

Lena chuckled lightly. โ€œYou get Keira out, and sheโ€™ll let you see your Ian.โ€

Now that everything was laid bare, Sasha didnโ€™t respond right away. Instead, she locked her eyes on Lena, then let out a strange laughโ€”low and cryptic. It left Lena unsure if sheโ€™d hit a nerve or just missed something entirely.

โ€œKeira has plenty of people who could help her get out. Why me?โ€ Sasha asked finally.

Lena smiled faintly. โ€œBecause she doesnโ€™t want to involve Nina. Sheโ€™s giving you another way to see the person you love.โ€

Sashaโ€™s expression darkened. She hated that Lena had said it so plainly, hated that it was true. If she hadnโ€™t been forced into this corner, she would never have involved Nina. But Nina was missing, Thorsten didnโ€™t care, and Sasha had no moves left.

Still, doubt lingered. Could Keira really pull this off?

โ€œWhat are you hesitating for?โ€ Lena asked, reading the conflict on Sashaโ€™s face.

Sasha stared off into the distance. Confusion and helplessness weighed heavily in her voice. โ€œIf all my efforts couldnโ€™t get me to Ian, how could she possibly do it?โ€

Sasha had long suspected Ian was at DracoLux. Sheโ€™d spent a fortune, pulled strings, and burned bridges, but none of it brought her closer to him.

โ€œThereโ€™s always someone better, Ms. Grey,โ€ Lena said with a faint shrug. โ€œJust because you couldnโ€™t doesnโ€™t mean others canโ€™t. And besidesโ€ฆโ€ She paused for effect. โ€œKeira has someone on the insideโ€”someone whoโ€™s on her side. You donโ€™t, do you?โ€

Sashaโ€™s eyes narrowed. โ€œXander?โ€

Lena thought, โ€˜Guess Keiraโ€™s connections are hardly a mystery.โ€™

โ€œYou know as well as I do what Xanderโ€™s position means,โ€ Lena said, her tone light but loaded.

Sasha fell silent, the wheels clearly turning in her head. Lena didnโ€™t push. Instead, she checked her phone, which had buzzed earlier. A message from Nate popped up:

[Lena, Iโ€™ll be back next week for a couple of days. Weโ€™ll finally get to meet again.]

Before, a text like that wouldโ€™ve sparked excitement. Now, staring at the screen, she feltโ€ฆnothing.

โ€œDr. Lane,โ€ Sashaโ€™s voice pulled her back to reality.

Lena slipped her phone away, meeting Sashaโ€™s gaze.

โ€œFine, Iโ€™ll get Keira out,โ€ Sasha said.

Lena nodded slightly, but Sasha wasnโ€™t done. โ€œBut I have one condition.โ€
