Chapter 928

Because itโ€™s impossible to open a business without a ceremonyโ€”at least, that was the answer he gave Kiera. Aside from that, he went on and on about how setting off fireworks during an opening was auspicious. He even claimed that since Keira believed in Buddhism, she should understand that there was a certain mysticism in the world. It was the first time Keira realized how persuasive he could be. He was insistent, and she couldnโ€™t keep arguing against it. However, she made it clear that it wouldnโ€™t be a grand affairโ€”just a few close friends.

Thanks to a bloggerโ€™s promotion, her little courtyard became popular before it even officially opened. Visitors came in an endless stream every day, and weekends were especially crowded. With all this activity, Keira hadnโ€™t had time to visit Lena. Lena came to see her instead, but it was obvious she had something on her mind.

Keira made her a cup of coffee and carefully crafted a pretty cloud-shaped latte art. โ€œHere, your exclusive special,โ€ she said with a smile.

โ€œWow, your skills have improved a lot lately,โ€ Lena exclaimed.

โ€œItโ€™s not just good-looking; itโ€™s delicious too,โ€ Keira replied, grinning. Her feelings toward making coffee had gone beyond likingโ€”it was love now.

Lena studied Keira closely. โ€œLilโ€™ Rea, youโ€™ve got this glow about you now. You seem so full of energy and life.โ€

Honestly, Keira had noticed it too. It felt like her whole body was brimming with strength, and every day she woke up with something to look forward to.

โ€œWhat about your glow?โ€ Keira asked her.

โ€œGlow? Iโ€™d be lucky if my whole family doesnโ€™t collapse,โ€ she muttered, then told her about Aaron searching for his biological parents.

Keira was taken aback. โ€œWhy is he suddenly looking for his birth parents?โ€

โ€œHe said they gave him life, and once he finds them, heโ€™ll repay them in one go and owe them nothing anymore.โ€ Lenaโ€™s face was clouded with worry.

โ€œDoes your mom or your grandparents know about this?โ€ Keira asked. She knew how much the Ace family cared about Aaron.

She shook her head lightly. โ€œHe only told me.โ€ Keira brought over some dessert and set it in front of her. โ€œIs he hoping youโ€™ll help him figure out what to do?โ€

โ€œNo. He wasnโ€™t even planning to tell me; I had to press him when I noticed something was off,โ€ she said, popping a cherry from the cake into her mouth.

Keira thought for a moment. โ€œIf he just wants to repay the favor of being born, then let him. Once he finds them, he can give them some money and explain everything clearly.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not that simple,โ€ Lena said, twirling the cherry stem between her fingers. โ€œHe wants to make a public statement.โ€

โ€œIf he does that, everyone will know Aaron isnโ€™t actually part of the Ace family. My grandparents are old; they wonโ€™t be able to handle it. My mom? Donโ€™t even get me started,โ€ she said, clearly dreading the fallout.

Keira frowned slightly. โ€œAaron isnโ€™t someone who acts without thought. He wouldnโ€™t make a rash decision like this without considering the consequences.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s what I told him too. I laid out all the potential risks, and do you know what he said?โ€ Lena tossed the cherry stem onto the table. โ€œHe said Iโ€™d better be there that day, ready with a first-aid kit.โ€

โ€œPfft!โ€ Keira couldnโ€™t help but laugh at that.

โ€œDonโ€™t laugh! He really said that! And I think heโ€™s serious,โ€ Lena grumbled. โ€œMy uncle is the kind of person who will do whatever heโ€™s set his mind on, no matter the cost.โ€

Although Keira didnโ€™t know Aaron very well, she was sure he wasnโ€™t impulsive or reckless. He must have his reasons. Maybe Hayden knew something.

But she didnโ€™t voice her thoughts. Instead, she speared a piece of cake with a fork and offered it to Lena, saying, โ€œI think he has his own plans. Donโ€™t stress yourself out over it.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s no point in stressing. If the sky wants to rain or a bride wants to marry, thereโ€™s no stopping it. I guess all I can do is what he suggestedโ€”show up on the day he announces it, first-aid kit in hand, ready for anything,โ€ Lena said, suddenly more relaxed.

She finally noticed the unusual number of guests in Keiraโ€™s courtyard. โ€œYour little place is really taking off, isnโ€™t it?โ€

โ€œI wouldnโ€™t say itโ€™s booming, just gaining a bit of recognition,โ€ Keira replied, explaining the bloggerโ€™s promotion.

Lena gave her a strange look, different from her usual expressions.

Keira chuckled softly. โ€œWhy are you looking at me like that?โ€
