Chapter 982

โ€œYouโ€™re spending the holidays with your boyfriend, right?โ€ Lena jumped in.

Keira hadnโ€™t even considered that possibility until she mentioned it. At Yunaโ€™s age, dating was perfectly normal, especially in college. She lifted her gaze to Lena, a flicker of panic in her eyes. Keira assumed she was worried sheโ€™d tell Hayden.

Keira chuckled. โ€œIf you werenโ€™t dating at your age, that would be the real problem. Your brother and I would start worrying.โ€

Just as Keira finished speaking, Hayden walked out, carrying freshly blended juice and coffee. He placed the juice in front of Keira and handed the coffee to Yuna.

โ€œWe were actually planning to visit you at school in the next couple of days,โ€ he said casually.

Hayden had always cherished his little sister, remembering every little thing about her. But he was also thoughtful enough to include Keira, making it seem like it was their shared idea.

โ€œYouโ€™re on break now, right? Any plans?โ€ Hayden asked as he sat down.

โ€œI want to go abroad,โ€ she replied.

Her words surprised all of them. Even Hayden hadnโ€™t expected it. After all, Yuna used to be too frail to even leave the town, let alone travel abroad.

โ€œFor vacation?โ€ Hayden asked patiently.

Yuna hesitated for two seconds before answering. โ€œSort of. Mainly, I want to explore universities overseas. Iโ€™m thinking about furthering my studies abroad.โ€

Her words stirred something deep inside Keira. Yuna had shown such a strong pursuit of knowledge, from entering university to now considering studying abroad. Compared to her, Keira felt like she had settled too comfortably, simply chasing the happiness in front of her without looking further ahead.

Hayden, however, remained unfazed. โ€œThatโ€™s a good goal. Are you going alone?โ€

โ€œโ€ฆyeah.โ€ She hesitated.

Keira glanced at Hayden. He was watching her intently, his expression unreadable. Then, he spoke firmly, โ€œNot alone. Itโ€™s too dangerous to be overseas by yourself these days.โ€ His tone left no room for argument.

Yuna immediately lifted her head. โ€œIโ€™m not going to some sketchy place like Thailand or Myanmar! Iโ€™m going toโ€”โ€ Her voice trailed off, too quiet for Keira to catch where exactly she was planning to go.

But Lena caught it. Her brows furrowed slightly. โ€œDo you have a friend there?โ€

Yuna gave a small nod. Before Hayden or Keira could react, Lena asked directly, โ€œIs it Nate?โ€

The moment she said his name, both Hayden and Keira turned to look at her. She smiled faintly. โ€œNate is there.โ€

Thatโ€™s when it hit Keira. Lena had visited him beforeโ€”back when Keira was the one who booked her flight. Yuna and Nateโ€ฆ There were reasons they were connected, but beyond thatโ€ฆ

โ€œHeโ€™s just helping me look into schools. Donโ€™t overthink it,โ€ Yuna quickly clarified, cutting off any assumptions they might have had.

โ€œIf Nateโ€™s there, then itโ€™s fine,โ€ Hayden said, giving Nate his full trust.

Keira understood his reasoning. Nate had saved his sisterโ€™s lifeโ€”how could he not trust him? She felt the same way. โ€œThen weโ€™ll check in with Nate later. Donโ€™t rush into this. If he happens to be traveling for academic events, you could end up there alone, and we wouldnโ€™t feel comfortable with that.โ€

Keira glanced at Lena. She was watching Yuna, her expression unreadable. Keira knew exactly what she was thinking. Under the table, she discreetly nudged her foot.

Lena remained silent. She had a past with Nate, and she could clearly see that Yuna wasnโ€™t just going abroad for schoolโ€”she was going for him. How interesting. Nate and Yunaโ€ฆ Who wouldโ€™ve thought?

โ€œBrother, sister-in-law,โ€ Yuna suddenly spoke, her tone serious. โ€œIโ€™m an adult now. Iโ€™m not a child anymore. And my health is fine. I want to make my own decisions about my life. Can you not interfere?โ€

Her meaning was clearโ€”she didnโ€™t want them reaching out to Nate. Hayden opened his mouth to say something, but Keira shook her head at him.
