Chapter 982
โYouโre spending the holidays with your boyfriend, right?โ Lena jumped in.
Keira hadnโt even considered that possibility until she mentioned it. At Yunaโs age, dating was perfectly normal, especially in college. She lifted her gaze to Lena, a flicker of panic in her eyes. Keira assumed she was worried sheโd tell Hayden.
Keira chuckled. โIf you werenโt dating at your age, that would be the real problem. Your brother and I would start worrying.โ
Just as Keira finished speaking, Hayden walked out, carrying freshly blended juice and coffee. He placed the juice in front of Keira and handed the coffee to Yuna.
โWe were actually planning to visit you at school in the next couple of days,โ he said casually.
Hayden had always cherished his little sister, remembering every little thing about her. But he was also thoughtful enough to include Keira, making it seem like it was their shared idea.
โYouโre on break now, right? Any plans?โ Hayden asked as he sat down.
โI want to go abroad,โ she replied.
Her words surprised all of them. Even Hayden hadnโt expected it. After all, Yuna used to be too frail to even leave the town, let alone travel abroad.
โFor vacation?โ Hayden asked patiently.
Yuna hesitated for two seconds before answering. โSort of. Mainly, I want to explore universities overseas. Iโm thinking about furthering my studies abroad.โ
Her words stirred something deep inside Keira. Yuna had shown such a strong pursuit of knowledge, from entering university to now considering studying abroad. Compared to her, Keira felt like she had settled too comfortably, simply chasing the happiness in front of her without looking further ahead.
Hayden, however, remained unfazed. โThatโs a good goal. Are you going alone?โ
โโฆyeah.โ She hesitated.
Keira glanced at Hayden. He was watching her intently, his expression unreadable. Then, he spoke firmly, โNot alone. Itโs too dangerous to be overseas by yourself these days.โ His tone left no room for argument.
Yuna immediately lifted her head. โIโm not going to some sketchy place like Thailand or Myanmar! Iโm going toโโ Her voice trailed off, too quiet for Keira to catch where exactly she was planning to go.
But Lena caught it. Her brows furrowed slightly. โDo you have a friend there?โ
Yuna gave a small nod. Before Hayden or Keira could react, Lena asked directly, โIs it Nate?โ
The moment she said his name, both Hayden and Keira turned to look at her. She smiled faintly. โNate is there.โ
Thatโs when it hit Keira. Lena had visited him beforeโback when Keira was the one who booked her flight. Yuna and Nateโฆ There were reasons they were connected, but beyond thatโฆ
โHeโs just helping me look into schools. Donโt overthink it,โ Yuna quickly clarified, cutting off any assumptions they might have had.
โIf Nateโs there, then itโs fine,โ Hayden said, giving Nate his full trust.
Keira understood his reasoning. Nate had saved his sisterโs lifeโhow could he not trust him? She felt the same way. โThen weโll check in with Nate later. Donโt rush into this. If he happens to be traveling for academic events, you could end up there alone, and we wouldnโt feel comfortable with that.โ
Keira glanced at Lena. She was watching Yuna, her expression unreadable. Keira knew exactly what she was thinking. Under the table, she discreetly nudged her foot.
Lena remained silent. She had a past with Nate, and she could clearly see that Yuna wasnโt just going abroad for schoolโshe was going for him. How interesting. Nate and Yunaโฆ Who wouldโve thought?
โBrother, sister-in-law,โ Yuna suddenly spoke, her tone serious. โIโm an adult now. Iโm not a child anymore. And my health is fine. I want to make my own decisions about my life. Can you not interfere?โ
Her meaning was clearโshe didnโt want them reaching out to Nate. Hayden opened his mouth to say something, but Keira shook her head at him.
