Chapter 177
Josiah tensed. "Just say it," he urged.
But Zach hesitated. "It's... it's that taxi."
"What about the car? What about Sienna?" Josiah frowned.
Zach shook his head. "Still no news."
Josiah's anger flared. "And you call this news?"
Zach bowed his head, embarrassed, unable to argue.
Nearby, Cedric picked up on something important. "So, Josiah is here to find Sienna?"
Noticing Cedric's reaction, Josiah realized Sienna wasn't there. "Zach, let's go."
Zach nodded. "Yes, Mr. Flynn."
But Cedric wouldn't let them leave so easily. He grabbed Josiah's shoulder. "You need to explain this. How did Sienna disappear?"
The urgency of their search reminded Cedric of their earlier fight. Furious, he abandoned all pretense of politeness. "Josiah! Did you bully Sienna? Did you hit her?"
Josiah paused, not denying it. He hadn't physically struck Sienna, but his bullying had been equally damaging. He couldn't escape the truth.
Cedric took Josiah's silence as an admission. His anger boiling over, he grabbed Josiah by the collar. "You jerk! Are you even a man? How could you lay a hand on Sienna?" he roared, raising his fist and swinging at Josiah.
"Mr. Flynn!" Zach cried out, worry etched on his face.
Josiah took the punch. Cedric's blow was powerful, and blood immediately seeped from the corner of Josiah's mouth.
Terrified, Zach intervened, pulling Cedric away. "Mr. Brawne, calm down!"
"Let go of me!" Cedric shouted, struggling against Zach's grip. But his still-healing injuries prevented him from breaking free. "You actually hit her? How could you do that?" he raged. Sienna was the girl he cared for most; even though she hadn't chosen him, he couldn't bring himself to speak ill of her.
Josiah wiped the blood from his mouth, letting out a cold laugh. He grabbed Cedric's collar. "If it weren't for your persistence, would we even be having this argument?"
Cedric, surprised, began to laugh, but the laughter quickly faded, his eyes reddening. "Josiah, don't you trust Sienna, or are you just not content?"
Josiah frowned, confused.
Cedric stopped laughing abruptly. "Last night, Sienna fell off her bike and hit her head. I took her to the hospital and stayed with her all night. Don't believe me? Check the hospital records."
He glared at Josiah. "If you're treating her like this, why are you competing with me for her? If you can't treat her well, then just give her back to me."
"In your dreams," Josiah said, releasing his grip. A cold chuckle escaped him. His gaze turned icy. "Don't even think about it. She was mine before, she is mine now, and she's going to be mine in the future." He turned and walked away.
"Josiah, you jerk! What kind of man are you?" Cedric yelled after him.
Outside, Zach got into the car and took another call, his face gloomy. "Okay, I got it." He ended the call, looking troubled.
Josiah said curtly, "Just say it."
Zach trembled, then blurted out, "The taxi driver has been found. He just got out of jail."
Chapter 177 (Continued)
Yvette stared at Howard, jealousy welling in her heart. This was the first time he'd been angry since waking up, and it was directed at his beloved younger brother. It was because of Sienna, wasn't it? Was he that worried about her?
