Chapter 198
Tripped by Yvette's foot, Sienna lost her balance and fell forward. "Ah!" Sienna's mind blanked momentarily, but she braced her fall with her palms and knees.
Yvette thought, Didn't Sienna fall flat on her face! She pouted, crossing her arms, ready to leave.
"Trying to leave?" Sienna stood, grabbing Yvette's arm tightly, her eyes blazing. Without hesitation, she slapped Yvette across the face.
Yvette, stunned, clutched her cheek, staring sharply at Sienna. "Sienna, you bitch!"
Sienna laughed coldly, her eyes like ice, glaring at Yvette with a lustful intensity. A bitch! she thought. If I hadn't reacted quickly, the fall could have cost me the baby.
Clenching her teeth, Sienna hissed, "Slapping you is being lenient!"
Yvette laughed angrily, twisting Sienna's arm. "Do you think you're so good? I'll sue you for assault! I'm having my assistant call a lawyer right now!"
"Let go!" Sienna demanded.
"No way!" Yvette retorted.
"Let her go!" Rosie intervened, pointing at Yvette. "You better let her go right now!"
"And who do you think you are?" Yvette dismissed Rosie. "Do I have to do what you say?"
Rosie waved her phone. "I got it all on camera! You tripped Sienna on purpose. Want to sue? Fine, let's do it!" She nodded towards Sienna. "Don't worry. We don't need lawyers. A quick online post can ruin Yvette's reputation instantly!"
Sienna grinned eagerly. "Yes?"
Yvette lunged at Rosie, trying to grab her phone. "Give it to me!"
"No way!" Rosie held her phone tightly.
"Ouch!" Rosie cried out as Yvette's nails dug into her skin. "You call that a bitch? You're the real one!"
Yvette ignored Rosie's pain, digging her nails deeper.
"Rosie!" Sienna moved to help.
Rosie growled, bending down and biting Yvette's hand hard.
"Ah..." This time, Yvette screamed in pain. The force of her reaction caused both women to stumble backward.
"Rosie!" Sienna rushed to Rosie's side. "Be careful!"
Rosie steadied herself, a smile forming. "I'm okay!"
Before she finished, Yvette screamed again as a heavy metal filming ladder crashed to the floor, pinning her leg.
Sienna and Rosie exchanged shocked glances, breaking into a cold sweat. Rosie thought, What should we do? Yvette seems injured.
"Sienna," Rosie whispered, frightened. She had pushed Yvette, unintentionally.
"Let's move the ladder first," Sienna said.
"Okay!" Rosie replied.
They struggled to lift the heavy ladder. Although Sienna disliked Yvette, she couldn't leave her there.
Yvette cried out in pain. Her leg was a bloody mess.
"This won't work..." Sienna gritted her teeth, sweat pouring down her face. "Is anyone there! Help!"
A crowd gathered and helped lift the ladder.
Sienna pushed Rosie. "You need to leave!"
"What?" Rosie was stunned, then shook her head. "No, I'm not leaving. I pushed Yvette."
Sienna frowned anxiously. "I told you to go, so go! I'll stay!" Rosie had gotten involved because of her; Sienna wouldn't let her loyal friend take the blame. That wasn't what friends did.
Rosie refused. Yvette's leg was injured; things were complicated. How can I justify letting my friend take the blame for me? she thought.
Yvette's assistant carefully helped the barely conscious Yvette onto a stretcher, then pointed at Sienna. "Catch them! Don't let them get away!"
Josiah's assistant, Zach, informed him, "Mr. Flynn, your phone has been ringing. It's Ms. Young's assistant."
Josiah thought, A problem? He frowned. Howard was still recovering, so Janet usually called Josiah with updates. He called back.
"Mr. Flynn!" Janet shouted urgently. "Yvette is in trouble! She hurt her leg on the film set!"
Josiah's eyes burned with anger. "How are you taking care of her? Can you do your job? If not, you're all fired!"
"Mr. Flynn," Janet said carefully, "It was intentional; we couldn't stop it."
"Who was it?" Josiah narrowed his eyes. I can't believe this! Do they have a death wish?
"Sienna and Rosie," Janet replied.
Josiah was taken aback. His lips curled into a slight smirk. "Who did you say? Repeat it."
"Sienna and Rosie," Janet said angrily. "Mr. Flynn, they're so arrogant! Two against one! Yvette's leg... who knows what will happen to it."
Josiah listened silently. After hanging up, he glanced at Zach. "Handle something for me."
"Yes, Mr. Flynn."
At the police station, Sienna was in an interrogation room, Rosie next door. Rosie was being questioned.
Sienna had calmed down on her way. She knew what she needed to do.
An officer entered. Sienna straightened.
"Sienna," the officer said, unlocking her handcuffs. "You're free to go."
"Huh?" Sienna was surprised. "But you haven't questioned me yet."
"We've got everything sorted out. You're not involved. Hurry and leave," the officer replied.
Does that mean Rosie took all the blame? Something's not right. Shouldn't they hear what I have to say? Sienna thought.
Leaving, Sienna asked, "Can I see my friend?"
"Not right now," the officer replied curtly. "She's being questioned."
Sienna already had a plan. She called a car and went to the hospital. On her way, she called Yvette. "It's me. I want to talk to you." The call secured her entry to the hospital room.
A nurse led her in. "Here you go."
"Thank you." Sienna entered the room and saw Josiah by Yvette's bed, asking caringly, "Feeling better? Is the pain still severe?"
