Chapter 284
“Daniel…” Rosic could not see, but she recognized his voice. Anxiously clutching Sienna’s arm, she stepped back to hide. It was Daniel who had blinded her.
Sienna held Rosie’s hand tightly, standing protectively before her as she glared at Daniel. “What are you doing here? Haven’t you hurt Rosie enough? You’ve taken her sight! Do you intend to kill her?”
“What?” Daniel was startled. A new emotion flickered in his eyes. He didn’t know Rosie was blind. “Is that true? Let me see…” He reached out, as if to pull Rosie closer.
Rosie recoiled in fear. “Get away!”
Daniel’s anger flared; his eyes widened into a menacing glare. “You won’t let me touch you? Rosie, have you forgotten I am your husband? I am legally entitled to…” He trailed off, his implication clear.
He grabbed Rosie’s wrist, yanking her toward him. “Come here!”
Rosie stumbled as he pulled her into his arms, trembling. “Let go of me!”
“Daniel!” Sienna tried to reach Rosie but couldn't. Desperation surged within her. “What do you want from her?”
“None of your concern!” Daniel shot her a cold look, aware she was Josiah’s wife and hesitant to provoke her. “Mrs. Flynn, this is a private matter. I suggest you don't interfere!”
He tightened his grip around Rosie’s waist and lifted her. “Let’s go!”
“No! Where are you taking me? Daniel! Stop!” Rosie’s pleas were unheard. Daniel, strong and robust, easily overpowered the two women. Sienna chased them down the stairs, helpless as Daniel forced Rosie into a car and drove away.
“What do we do?” Sienna pulled out her phone and called Josiah. “Josiah! Daniel has taken Rosie! I’m worried…”
Daniel was capable of cruelty; he had blinded his own wife. Rosie's situation was perilous.
“Are you alright? Did Daniel hurt you and the baby?” Josiah’s immediate concern was for Sienna’s safety.
“I’m fine; he didn’t hurt me.”
“Got it.” Only after ensuring Sienna’s safety did Josiah focus on Rosie. “Leave this to me, and promise to take care of yourself. Don’t worry me, alright?”
“Okay! But Rosie…”
“Wait for my news.” Josiah contacted Howard. “Howard, Daniel has taken Rosie.”
Rosie realized she was in the bedroom she had shared with Daniel. Though blind, she sensed its familiarity. She had lived here for a year, the first year of their marriage. Then, Daniel brought another woman home, and afterward, Rosie rented her own place and never returned.
Daniel shoved Rosie into the living room. She stumbled, falling before the sofa, hitting her knee. Pain shot through her, and tears welled in her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” Daniel frowned. “Did you get hurt? You are so fragile.”
As he approached, Rosie evaded him. Tears streamed down her face as she glared. “Don’t touch me with your filthy hands!” She backed away and fell.
“Filthy hands?” Daniel’s fury erupted. He sneered. “How dare you? I’ve been too indulgent with you.”
He effortlessly lifted her into his arms. Terror filled Rosie. “What are you going to do?”
Daniel laughed coldly. “You’ll find out soon enough!” He carried her upstairs, throwing her onto the bed. He grinned menacingly as he leaned over her. “Do you know why we haven’t had sex all these years?”
Rosie knew. Initially, she thought Daniel struggled psychologically; later, she realized he despised her.
“Rosie, I may be filthy, but you aren’t perfect either!” Daniel ripped open her shirt. “For all these years, you’ve lived like a widow; how do you feel now? Do you want me?”
Before Rosie could react, her shirt tore, and his hand landed on her shoulder. “Once we have sex, you won’t escape, right? Then I’ll give you what you desire!”
“No!” Rosie’s horrified eyes widened as Daniel leaned in to kiss her. She cried out and struggled, but her limbs were pinned.
This was humiliation. Rosie fought free one arm, grabbing the bedside clock. She swung it at Daniel.
“Ah!” Daniel yelped, clutching his forehead. The clock grazed his brow, drawing blood.
Fury consumed him. He felt the blood and raised his fist. “You dare strike me? Do you want to lose your hands and feet this time? I’ll make it happen!”
He tried to tear off her pants. “No, please don’t…” Rosie’s body was battered, her clothes torn, the torment unending.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. “Who is it?” Daniel growled. The ringing persisted, forcing him to stop. He kicked Rosie and went to answer the door.
As he approached, the door burst open. Hervey led a group, spotting Daniel. “Subdue him!”
Before Daniel could react, he was shoved against the wall. “Who are you? What do you want?”
Hervey ignored him, letting Howard enter. The bedroom door was open, faint cries audible. Howard went inside.
Following the sound, he found Rosie, barely covered. Howard instinctively looked away and shouted, “None of you are allowed in!” He set aside his cane and crouched before her.
