Chapter 310
Yosef’s words struck Cedric like a bolt of lightning. “You… what did you say?” Cedric stood there, dazed, seemingly unable to process the information.
Yosef sighed softly. “I really shouldn’t be telling you this.” He explained, firstly, Josiah was his friend, and this felt like a betrayal. After all, they all knew that despite his separation from Sienna, Josiah had no intention of letting her go. Secondly, he did it for Cedric’s sake. Cedric had clashed repeatedly with his family over Sienna, and his determination to go abroad remained unshaken, despite their attempts to dissuade him. Yosef had no choice but to take a gamble.
Cedric, however, had snapped back to reality, his expression now tinged with excitement. “You’re serious! Sienna and Josiah broke up?”
“Yes,” Yosef nodded.
Cedric grabbed Yosef’s shoulders excitedly. “Thank you! I owe you one, bro!”
“Forget it,” Yosef waved his hand, a wry smile playing on his lips. “I’m not sure if what I’m doing is right or wrong.” The truth was, Sienna was the only thing preventing Cedric from leaving.
That day, Sienna was heading to a script reading session. Josiah’s Bentley Continental was parked outside, and he stood by the car door, waving with a smile.
Sienna frowned and approached him. “Why are you here? Neither Joyce nor I need a follow-up check today.”
“I know,” Josiah replied faintly, opening the car door. “I’ll take you to the set.”
“How did you know I was going to the set?” Sienna’s frown deepened.
“Checking up on you?” she mused. He’d done this countless times before.
“As the biggest investor,” Josiah neither confirmed nor denied, “I have the right to know the crew’s basic schedule.”
Sienna wanted to laugh. Is this his goal? To invest just to keep an eye on her? A sense of helplessness washed over her. “Josiah, where exactly have I not made myself clear?”
“Nothing,” Josiah leaned against the car, looking elegant and refined. “You’ve been very clear. You don’t want to be with me; you only accept my responsibility for Joyce. I understand that.”
“Then what are you doing?” Sienna spread her hands.
Josiah chuckled softly. “You seem to be the one who doesn’t get it. My intention to be with you, to pursue you, hasn’t changed.”
“What?” Sienna was taken aback. Is there such logic? “But I’ve already refused you!”
“You can keep refusing me,” Josiah’s eyes were intense. “It’s okay. I’ll keep chasing.”
Sienna felt a ball of frustration building. “You’re being unreasonable!”
“Yes,” Josiah admitted without hesitation. “But what can I do? I want to do this. I have to do this. You came to the Flynn family when you were fifteen. You know me. When I decide to do something, I just have to do it!”
Sienna glared at his handsome face, gritting her teeth. “You really have some nerve!”
Josiah smiled pleasurably. “I’ll take that as a compliment.” He gestured for her to get in. “It’s getting late. If you don’t get in the car now, you’ll be late. But don’t worry, if that happens, I’ll go in with you, and no one will dare to give you any attitude…”
“Don’t you dare?” Sienna was exasperated. She had no doubt he would actually do it.
“Sure thing,” Josiah smirked. “Get in.”
Sienna’s brows furrowed. “Let me tell you, you’re not going to get your way!”
“That’s my problem,” Josiah raised an eyebrow, helping her into the car. “If you’re not going to let me have my way, then don’t worry about it.” He closed the door and drove her to the set.
Fortunately, Josiah kept his word and didn’t follow her in. He didn’t appear all day. However, the crew’s attitude towards her had undeniably changed. Everyone was flattering and cautious, with plenty of envy and jealousy, especially Maggie.
During a break, Maggie brought Sienna a bottle of water.
“Thanks,” Sienna said, despite already having water. “How much does it cost? I’ll transfer the money.”
“No need,” Maggie waved her hand. “It’s just a bottle of water. Compared to the Tasty Bites Mr. Flynn treated everyone to, it’s nothing. Mr. Flynn is really good to you. Is he coming to pick you up today?”
Sienna shook her head. “No.”
“Why not? Does he have some business to attend to?” Maggie asked.
Before Sienna could answer, her phone rang. A message from Cedric: "Sienna, can I see you?"
Another message arrived, from Josiah: "Sienna, I’ll pick you up when you’re done."
Sienna didn’t want to see either of them. She hesitated before replying to Cedric: "[Sure]"
Cedric replied: "[I'll come to find you.]"
Sienna sent him the time and place. Cedric had unresolved issues, and she should clarify things with him.
The script reading ended, and she left the set. Maggie excitedly linked arms with Sienna. “It’s Mr. Flynn! You said he wouldn’t come? Mr. Flynn is really good to you.”
Sienna frowned, spotting Josiah by his car, waving. She then noticed Cedric on the other side.
“Sienna,” Cedric called.
Sienna nodded and walked towards him. She felt Josiah’s gaze turn cold. Cedric, noticing Josiah, smiled, opened his car door, and said, “Get in.”
Sienna smiled faintly, got in. As the car pulled away, she instinctively looked in the rearview mirror. Her heart skipped a beat. The Bentley Continental was following closely behind. Josiah had followed!
Cedric, noticing, asked, “Should we lose him?”
“No need,” Sienna shook her head. “Let him be.”
“Alright,” Cedric nodded, respecting her decision. “We’ll just ignore him.”
Sienna wondered, Why does he say that? Does he know something?
