Chapter 327

Howard wasn't bothered by her treatment; he was simply puzzled. "How did you find this place?"

Yvette was momentarily startled, tears welling in her eyes. "At a time like this, that's your concern? Howard, what am I to you?"

Howard knew he'd broken his promise, and how Yvette discovered it no longer mattered. "I'm sorry."

"Sorry!" Yvette shook her head, tears streaming down her face. "You think a simple 'sorry' is enough? Explain it. What's going on with you and Rosie? How did you two end up together? Did she seduce you?"

Howard frowned, speaking sternly. "Yvette! Don't talk about Rosie like that. She doesn't know anything!"

Yvette's breath hitched as she let out a mocking laugh. "Already defending her? What doesn't she know? She lured my man, and now she's innocent?" Her emotions spiraled; she tried to push past him toward the yard. "I want to ask Rosie if she knows what shameโ€”"

"Yvette," Howard grabbed her just in time, his brows furrowed as he shook his head. "It's me who wronged you. It has nothing to do with Rosie. Don't hurt her. She's young, and she gave me Bobby. She's a victim too. If you have any issues, take them out on me!" Yvette trembled, her shoulders quivered, tears streaming down her face. She thought, Sure enough, Rosie is Bobby's mom.

Her eyes brimmed with tears, her vision blurry. "You found her a long time ago. So it's true you've been hiding her, and fooling around with her!"

"No!" Howard's breath hitched as he vehemently denied it. "I was taking care of her because I owed her. Before you broke up with me and went to Lacustria, I didn't have any romantic feelings for her!"

Yvette was shocked, her eyes vacant. "Was it I who gave you the opportunity?"

Howard paused. "Since you don't need me anymore, I want to give Bobby a complete family. I owe it to Rosie and Bobby." Yvette laughed coldly, lifting her eyelids slightly. "Owe? What a nice way to put it. And what about me, Howard? What am I supposed to do?"

Howard was taken aback, not fully understanding. "Yvette, haven't we already broken up? You mentioned you couldn't accept Bobby."

Yvette thought, Yeah, I said that.

Yvette's mouth was slightly open, her chest heaving. Thinking of how Howard had given Rosie the pen, she laughed. "Howard, do you know? In all the years we've been together, you never really put that kind of thought into a gift for me!"

Over the years with the Flynn family, Howard had undeniably treated her well, granting her every request. Whether it was her birthday or any other holiday, Yvette made a request herself, or Howard's secretary, Hervey, managed everything, with Miranda offering suggestions. All Howard needed to do was present the gift. He looked at her and didn't deny it. "That's because you already have everything." Yvette was completely taken aback. Her heart ached; she shoved him forcefully away. "Howard, well done! Treating me like thisโ€”let's see if you ever find happiness!" She turned and ran.

"Yvette!" Howard stumbled backward from her push.

"Howard," Hervey appeared, catching him.

"I'm fine." Howard steadied himself with a cane, his worried eyes following Yvette. He instructed Hervey, "Have someone follow her. She's upset; don't let anything happen to her."

"Yes, don't worry, Howard," Hervey replied.

"And," Howard turned, pointing toward Rosie's place. "Make sure someone watches over it. Don't let Yvette get near her."

Hervey felt a chill. "Yes, Howard."

At the hospital, Josiah's condition improved; in the afternoon, the doctors removed the ventilator. Sienna moistened his lips with a damp cotton swab. "You miss Joyce, don't you?" She spoke of Joyce all day. Each mention caused him to move slightly, as if trying to wake up.

"Oh right. I have some videos of Joyce on my phone. You can listen to her voice." Her phone's cloud storage held many videos of Joyce, filmed by Sienna since infancy. She played them, explaining, "This is Joyce right after she stopped night feeding. She looked so cute and pitiful." "Here, she's two years old. She's left-handed. When she writes the number ten, she writes the zero first, then the one, and she'd always want me to praise her."

As night deepened, Sienna looked at Josiah sleeping peacefully. She sighed quietly, "For Joyce's sake, please do your best. Wake up. Get well."

The sky brightened. The hospital room door opened. Sienna, still groggy, slept on the sofa. She heard someone speaking. "Ms. Young, you're here? Good morning," said the nurse.

Yvette answered, "Where's Sienna? Wasn't she supposed to be on night duty?"

"Ms. Shaw hasn't woken up yet. She's over there," the nurse replied.

Yvette glanced over. Sienna, awakened by the noise, rose and brushed back her hair. She tied it up and gracefully walked to the bathroom. Yvette called out, stopping her. "Sienna, I need to talk to you." Her tone was unusually calm.

Sienna paused, looking at her with interest.

Yvette's brow furrowed, her face a mix of struggle and inner conflict. After hesitating, she finally spoke, "What do you feel about Josiah? Do you like him? If he wakes up, will you two be together?"

Sienna thought, Such a question. She raised her eyebrows with a soft laugh. "Didn't I tell you that he and I already broke up?"

"Really?" Yvette seemed skeptical.

Sienna smiled slightly. "Don't believe me? Well, there's nothing I can do about it. Maybe you should wait until Josiah wakes up and ask him?"

The nurse said, standing by the door, "Ms. Shaw, your breakfast is here."

Sienna nodded. "Alright, just a moment. I'll freshen up and be there soon."

"Okay." The nurse looked at Yvette. "Ms. Young, have you had breakfast yet? Would you like to join?"

"No, it's okay," Yvette shook her head, her mind racing. Judging by how Sienna looks, she must be telling the truth. She and Josiah aren't involved anymore. That's good; Sienna truly doesn't have Josiah in her heart.

Josiah was severely injured, yet Sienna slept soundly and ate heartily. Yvette quietly clenched her fists, her heart rate quickening, her breathing shallow.

On the hospital bed, Josiah frowned, his lips parted slightly. "Sienna, Siennaโ€ฆ"
