Chapter 332

Josiah received urgent news and rushed to the nursing home. His usually charming face was clouded with concern, a stark contrast to his composed demeanor. The director met him at the entrance.

"Howard," the director began.

"Did they find her?" Howard replied coldly, cutting to the chase.

"Not yet…" The director's voice trailed off.

Without changing expression, Howard strode inside. He thought, Why did the caregiver say Rosie suddenly lost control?

A nurse whispered nervously, "Um, Howard, there's someone in Ms. Miller's room claiming to be her husband."

Howard froze, his eyes narrowing. He knew instantly why Rosie had lost control. He quickly went to Rosie's room.

"You all better hand over my wife! This is kidnapping!" Daniel shouted from inside. He looked up and saw Howard. "You…" he stammered, "It's you."

This was the man who'd been Rosie's "mistress." Daniel had never believed it; Rosie wasn't that easily swayed. But seeing Howard now made him doubt himself. Could Rosie truly be with him? Daniel's expression darkened. "So, you're the one who's taken my wife? Hand her over."

"Taken?" Howard said flatly, glaring. "Where's your proof?"

Daniel hesitated, his anger flaring. "Rosie is my wife! That's all the proof I need!"

"That's nonsense," Howard said icily. "Rosie's a grown woman. She can choose where she wants to live. And you, with your history of abuse and infidelity, have no right to demand anything from me. Scram."

Howard, focused on finding Rosie, had no time for Daniel. He glanced at Hervey. "Get him out of here."

"Yes," Hervey nodded. Security staff quickly overpowered Daniel and dragged him out.

"Let go of me!" Daniel yelled, struggling ineffectively. Anger twisted his features. "Who do you think you are? How dare you interfere with my wife!" Howard silently scoffed, "Shut him up."

Daniel was soon speechless, the sounds of struggle fading. Howard closed his eyes for a second and looked at Hervey. "Turn the nursing home upside down," he instructed.

"Yes, sir," Hervey replied before leaving. All that remained was to wait. The director and staff had already searched thoroughly but found nothing.

Howard rubbed his temples. Maybe Rosie slipped out, he thought. The chances are slim, but what if… He ordered, "Bring some people and search the area around the nursing home."

"Yes, sir," the director replied.

Having exhausted all options, Howard recalled Rosie's last disappearance—she'd gone to find Sienna. He called Sienna.

"Howard," Sienna answered promptly.

"Sienna," Howard hesitated, "Did Rosie come by your place?"

Sienna paused. "No. Why would you ask, Howard?"

Howard explained, "Rosie's husband came to the nursing home today, and she got upset. She ran away." He didn't want to dwell on it. "If she shows up, let me know immediately."

"Okay," Sienna said, worried and confused. Does he really care this much about Rosie? Is it just my imagination?

The sky darkened. Miranda came downstairs, preparing for family dinner. Yvette was with Linda in the kitchen, Josiah played with Bobby. Only Howard was missing.

"What's going on?" Miranda asked anxiously. "Your brother went to the office, and it's already late. He might miss dinner."

"Don't worry, Grandma," Josiah reassured her. "I'll check on him."

"Make it fast," Miranda said. "Tell him to hurry back; we have to pay our respects tonight. We've got to make up for last night."

Josiah dialed Howard's number. "Howard, where are you? Grandma's getting anxious. Can you hurry up?"

Howard paused. "I can't make it back right now."

"What?" Josiah's heart sank. "What do you mean? What kind of problem could be so urgent?"

"I'll tell you later. I'm hanging up now," Howard said, ending the call.

"Howard!" Josiah exclaimed. Just then, he saw Yvette watching him with a knowing smile. "I know where he is. Come with me."

Without waiting, she headed outside.

"Yvette, what's going on?" Josiah called, confused. "Do you know what happened to Howard?"

"Yeah," she smirked. "Just follow me, you'll see."

Yvette drove Josiah toward the South Jeiacrity Nursing Home. As they got closer, Josiah's expression darkened. "Where are we going?"

Yvette smiled calmly. "You'll find out when we get there."

The car stopped in front of the nursing home. Josiah felt dread. No way. Has Yvette figured out what's going on between Howard and Rosie? With Howard at the nursing home, Yvette must have come to confront him.

At the entrance, Sienna was registering. She'd just spoken with Howard and still hadn't heard from Rosie. Worrying, she'd come to check.

Yvette pulled up beside her. "You're here too! Looks like I didn't make a mistake coming here." She gestured to the back seat. "Hop in, it'll save you a walk."

Josiah stepped out. "Sienna, what brings you here?"

Sienna looked at him, then Yvette, her thoughts on Rosie and Howard. A shocking idea hit her. No way.

Inside the nursing home, Hervey rushed to Howard, slightly breathless. "Howard! We found her!"

Howard jumped up, scanning behind Hervey. "Where is she?"

"Howard, you should go… bring her out. Ms. Miller doesn't let anyone get close. The moment someone does, she starts crying." Howard's heart sank. "Lead the way."

"This way," Hervey said, leading Howard down the corridor. As Howard approached, disbelief washed over him. Rosie was there.
