Chapter 340

Josiah was lost in thought. Even if it wasn't a joke, it must have stemmed from overwhelming sorrow, a moment of impulsive speech. He believed the breakup with Howard, after years of their relationship, was a significant blow to Yvette. He hoped she would recover soon.

The next day, nearing noon, Sienna reviewed the script. Sienna Maggie came running, winking with a smile, "Mr. Flynn is here."

As she spoke, Josiah strode in, pulled out a chair, and sat before her. Glancing at her script, he asked, "Do you have afternoon scenes?"

"Mm-hmm," Sienna replied lazily, wondering why he'd come at noon.

"Stop reading," Josiah closed her script. "It's almost noon; let's eat."

"I'm not going," Sienna declined immediately. "I'm in costume. It's inconvenient."

"There's nothing inconvenient about it," Josiah countered. "Ride in my car; it's nearby. It's just a few more glances from people. You're an actress now. Are you still afraid of being seen?"

Sienna frowned, wanting to refuse. Josiah guessed her thoughts. "If you refuse again, I'll treat the whole crew to dinnerโ€”on your behalf."

Sienna frowned. Didn't he realize there were already too many rumors about them? Josiah was wearing her down, and she firmly believed he and Yvette would eventually reunite. She wanted to see his reaction that day.

"Have dinner? Alright then," Sienna said, standing. Maggie fetched her coat; Josiah took it, saying, "Let me." He helped her into it. Holding her hand, he said softly, "Let's go." The two left, hand in hand.

Maggie watched silently, murmuring, "That's so good. I'm so envious. It's enviable to the point of jealousy."

At the restaurant, Sienna sipped the water Josiah poured. "Didn't you say you'd be in Lochland City in the evening? Why are you here at noon?"

"Company business," Josiah sighed helplessly. "I planned to rest and spend time with you and Joyce, but there's no way around it. I've been involved in this project and must follow up."

"Oh," Sienna nodded. "Then just go; no need to come over at noon for this."

"How could it not be worth it?" Josiah said.

The waiter arrived. As Josiah served Sienna, he said, "I'm pursuing you. How could I not show up before I leave? I have time; I'm not busy."

"Cough!" Sienna covered her mouth, choking on his words.

"Why are you choking?" Josiah quickly offered water. He also handed her a napkin, saying, "Take it slow."

"Thank you," Sienna said, catching her breath. She looked at him helplessly. "Since you like me so much, why not listen to me and go to the hospital for liquid nitrogen cryotherapy?"

Josiah was taken aback, retorting, "If I did liquid nitrogen cryotherapy, would you agree to remarry me and live happily ever after?"

"No," Sienna replied instantly.

Chapter 310

Josiah's eyes dimmed slightly, but he wasn't angry. "Why not? Don't you have confidence in me?"

"Yes, I don't have confidence in you," Sienna said, feeling a slight discomfort. She watched him carefully remove a lemon from her dish.

"In my opinion, it won't be long before Yvette lures you away, and you two will be lovey-dovey," Sienna continued.

"You're overthinking," Josiah said, shelling a crab and placing it in her bowl. "Crab is cold in nature. You can't eat too much; two is enough."

He returned to the previous topic. "The thing you're worried about won't happen. If she chose me, she would have done so years ago, not wait until now."

Sienna thought, "It sounds like there's a story behind this." She asked curiously, "She really did choose?" She mused, 'How rare, both Flynn brothers are hard to come by, and Yvette is so lucky to have the right to choose?'

"Tell me, how did she choose? Between you and your elder brother, who confessed first? Or did you both do it at the same time?"

"What kind of talk is that?" Josiah said, realizing her misconception. "It's not what you think."

This story dated back to when they were rescued and returned to the Flynn residence. Josiah only saw two people: Howard Flynn and Yvette.

For Howard, Josiah was an absolute brother-worshipper, accepting his every word without question. For Yvette, being a girl, he only wanted to protect her.

Howard felt the same way. As they grew up, rumors of the Flynn brothers falling for the same girl spread like wildfire. Josiah realized a girl couldn't accept the affection of two men simultaneously.

The rumors reached Miranda, the family matriarch, who couldn't tolerate the scandal. She called the three of them together.

"Yvette, tell Grandma, between Howard and Josiah, who do you like? Don't worry, just tell the truth," Miranda said.

"Grandma," Yvette looked at Howard, then Josiah, and shyly said, "It's Howard."

"Alright, Grandma understands," Miranda sighed, looking at Josiah. "Josiah, did you hear that? From now on, do you know what to do?"

"Yes, Grandma, I understand," young Josiah nodded solemnly.

Their relationship was thus set. Sienna, while having some sympathy, said, "However, losing to your elder brother, you're not really wronged."

"Ohโ€ฆ" Sienna nodded, looking at Josiah with a sympathetic expression. "Just think it through."

Josiah laughed in frustration. "What's there for me to think through?"

"Yep," Sienna said, continuing to eat. "Every dog has its day, and your spring, isn't it here?"

"It's not," Josiah said exasperatedly. "I've told you all this, and you haven't understood at all!"

"I understood," Sienna nodded. "Aren't you just saying that back then, in your youthful innocence, you didn't have time to confess before you were eliminated?"

Josiah was exasperated. "Is that what I meant? Didn't I tell you that Yvette and I never had any romantic feelings from beginning to end?"

"But you can think about it now," Sienna said, seriously analyzing. "You liked her back then. Only you didn't have time to realize it before you were suppressed. You have a decade-long emotional foundation with her. It's easy for old feelings to reignite. A happy union seems imminent."
