Chapter 366
Although it seemed unlikely he was a fan, Sienna still managed a smile. "Hello."
The young man took a few steps closer, pausing after hearing her words. "You don't recognize me, do you?" He rubbed his face. "I've changed a lot, haven't I?"
He smiled, looking at Sienna. "You're still the same. No change at all. At least, I can recognize you right away."
The more he spoke, the fainter Sienna's smile became. A faint memory stirred within her. Then, he spoke again, his tone serious. "Sienna, how have you been all these years?"
Sienna froze, a chill running down her spine. It was him! Conner Fischer!
"Sienna," Conner said, his eyes shining with excitement, "I saw you trending on Instagram. Then I found articles about you, learned you were filming here, and thought I'd try my luck. I never expected to actually run into you! Sienna, you're even more beautiful than when you were little."
After a short pause, he continued, "By the way, what's with the trending topic? You and Josiahโdidn't you two get married a long time ago? Why are you suddenly dropping couple content all over social media?"
"What do you want?" Sienna interrupted impatiently. "Stop the nonsense. Get to the point."
Conner paused, clearly taken aback. He shook his head. "Sienna, you've misunderstood."
"Have I?" Sienna sneered. "The Fischer family have all been here, and you're the last. What could I possibly misunderstand? What do you want this time? Who's in trouble now?"
"Sienna," Conner said, his voice serious, "I know about the accident... my mother and Reyna did bad things to you. I'm sorry, and I want to apologizeโ"
"Enough," Sienna frowned, cutting him off. "No apologies needed. If you're not going to tell me why you're here, leave. And don't come back!" She turned to walk away.
"Sienna! Wait!" Conner quickly stepped forward, blocking her path.
Sienna was startled. "What exactly do you want? I'll call security!"
"I'm not here for anything bad. I just..." Conner lowered his head. "I know my family wronged you, but I swear, I'mโ" He ran his fingers through his hair. "Sienna, whether you believe it or not, I've always seen you as my biological sister. I heard from Dad you were back in Jeiacrity, so I came to see you."
"You saw me. Now leave," Sienna snapped, her patience exhausted. "What else do you want?"
Conner hesitated, his face paling slightly. "I'm sorry. That year, when you came to the house, I couldn't help you, but I'm grown up now, and I can help you!" He pulled out a business card. "Here's my number and WhatsApp. I've been wondering how you've been at the Flynn residence all these years. Are you doing well? I've grown up and have a say in the family, so, ifโand I mean ifโyou're not doing well at the Flynn residence, or if Josiah is treating you badly, you can come to me! The Fischers are your family. We've got your back."
Sienna froze. "Got me?" She thought she was hearing things.
Conner nodded awkwardly. "I know the Fischer family isn't as powerful as the Flynn family, but if you're feeling mistreated, at least you'll have someone to turn to."
"What do you want?" Sienna stared at Conner's face, sensing something was off. Realization dawned. "You saw me trending. You're trying to use me to get in good with the Flynn family, aren't you?"
"Siennaโ" Conner froze, shaking his head. "No!"
Sienna didn't believe him. She pointed to the door, her voice sharp. "Leave now!" She picked up her phone.
"Sienna!" Conner panicked. "Wait, I'm goingโI'll leave right now!" Before leaving, he shoved the business card into her hand. "I mean it. We owe you so much, and I just want to make it up to you, so you'll have someone to rely on." He paused, looking at her one last time. "Sienna. I'll go now."
Conner left. Sienna glanced at the business card but tossed it in the trash. Not a word Conner said registered. She didn't trust any of them. She thought the Fischer family didn't have a single decent person. It's easy for people to say the elders' grudges don't affect their children, but what kind of good people could Larry and Tania possibly raise? Just look at Reyna.
However, Sienna didn't know her encounter with Conner had been photographed and was trending. Sienna wasn't officially a public figure yet, as her first project was still in production. Her name had already made headlines due to media attention. Her past as a lead dancer in Lightning Dance and her adoption by the Flynn family had also been unearthed. Her relationship announcement with Josiah, and now her meeting with Conner, quickly shot up the trending list. The photo showed Sienna facing the camera, while Conner's back was to it; he seemed to be embracing her. It could definitely spark wild guesses.
Later, Sienna was filming a scene. After wrapping, she noticed her co-workers giving her curious, hesitant looks. Maggie rushed over and grabbed her arm. "Who's that guy who visited you on set? What's your relationship with him?"
Sienna froze, confused. "How did you know someone came to see me?"
Maggie, visibly anxious, showed Sienna her phone. The whole country knew. Sienna saw that she had indeed made the trending list. She sighed. "Well, I guess I'm a trending topic," she said wryly. Maggie was genuinely worried. "The whole country saw it, and so did Mr. Flynn. Aren't you worried he'll be mad?"
