Chapter 61

Josiah was about to explode. He hadn't expected Sienna to speak to him like that. He was always the one people pleaded with for help; no one dared to talk back. "Sienna, you—"

"Leave!" Sienna didn't want to speak to him anymore; the ring he'd tossed had to be found quickly. She turned and ran in the direction of the throw, bending to search under the streetlamp. The lighting wasn't very bright.

Anxiously, Sienna retrieved her phone and switched on the flashlight. It was such a small ring; she wasn't sure she could find it. She silently prayed, mumbling, "Please."

She had to find it. She couldn't bear the consequences if Ryan found out she'd lost the ring.

Josiah watched, a dark blue flame flaring in his chest, spreading uncontrollably. He was surprised by her concern for Ryan's ring.

"Sienna!" Josiah stepped forward, grasping her shoulder commandingly. "Stop looking! Do you hear me?"

"Let go!" Sienna lifted her head sharply, her eyes red. "Josiah, don't push me. I'm starting to hate you more and more!"

Josiah was stunned. "You hate me?"

"Yes!" Sienna's pink lips trembled. "When I was young, I was wrong to cling to you! I've already paid the price for my naive recklessness! I'm begging you, just let me go, okay?"

"Hmph!" His eyes fixed on her, finding the situation utterly ridiculous. "Sienna, you're clueless! Ungrateful! Fine, have it your way!"

Suddenly, he released Sienna and turned to leave, a sharp, fierce look on his handsome face. If she insisted on being a mistress, so be it. If he interfered again, he might be a fool.

At the alley's turn, Josiah inexplicably looked back, watching Sienna still bent over, searching for the ring from afar. He reached into his pocket and produced the diamond ring. A slight smirk played on his lips.

He thought, Go ahead and search. You'll never find it. He clenched his fist, the small diamond ring digging painfully into his palm. Turning, Josiah pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Mr. Flynn," Zach answered.

Josiah instructed, "Inform Ryan's family of his affair."

"Yes, sir."

Josiah understood Ryan, though divorced, had a grown son and daughter.

That night, Sienna didn't find the ring. This made her anxious and uncertain about facing Ryan. Fortunately, Ryan was busy over the next few days. He didn't come to Maze or invite her out; they only contacted each other by phone. Still, they would eventually have to meet.

Unexpectedly, Josiah appeared at Maze that evening. Henry immediately greeted him, "Mr. Flynn, it's been a while. What brings you here tonight?"

Josiah wore a smile, but his eyes lacked amusement. "Oh? Do I need to explain why or when I show up somewhere?"

Henry was startled, laughing awkwardly, "Of course not, I'm just really happy you're here!"

"Hmm," Josiah nodded slightly, asking nonchalantly, "Is she performing tonight?"

Hearing this, Henry's heart skipped a beat. Josiah was still thinking about Sienna. He thought it was bad, considering Sienna had moved on. "Yes," Henry nodded nervously, worried Josiah might demand to see Sienna.

But Josiah simply waved his hand, saying, "Okay, you can go."

"Alright," Henry turned, wiping cold sweat from his forehead. He didn't understand Josiah's intentions or his feelings for Sienna.

He shook his head and left, entering the dressing room to inform Sienna, "Mr. Flynn is here, sitting in his usual spot."

Sienna was momentarily stunned and frowned. She wondered what he was up to this time.

Henry sighed, "I don't know what he has in mind. Just be careful."

"Yeah, I got it," Sienna nodded, stood up, and prepared herself. It was her time to take the stage. Everything seemed normal. Sienna performed and returned to the dressing room to remove her makeup without incident.

She thought Josiah was probably just socializing; he'd often visited in the past. After removing her makeup, she went to change clothes. Outside, she heard arguing, initially believing it was Josiah. Then she recognized a sharp woman's voice. Sienna finished changing, opened the door, and stepped out.

"Get out of my way! I'm going to rip this homewrecker apart today!" A woman's voice, piercingly shrill, filled the air.

"Hey! You can't go in there!"

"Quick! Stop her!"

"Get lost!" The dressing room door burst open—or rather, was kicked open. Sienna had just steadied herself when she saw a young woman, about her age, storming in.

"You—" The girl pointed at Sienna with arrogance and contempt. "You're the one, aren't you?"

"What?" Sienna was completely bewildered.

"Hmph!" The girl stepped closer, looking Sienna up and down. "Sienna?"

"Um?" Sienna nodded, stunned. "That's me."

Before she could finish, the girl slapped Sienna. Sienna, unable to react, held her face, her eyebrows tightening. She glared at the girl.

"You still dare to glare at me?" The girl lifted her chin, sneering. "What? Don't you think a shameless woman like you deserves a slap?"

Sienna's vision momentarily darkened.

"Sienna," Henry entered, standing behind the girl, gesturing and mouthing words.

Sienna could barely make out what he mouthed. She was surprised. She thought Ryan was divorced and single. This young girl couldn't possibly be his wife.

"Sienna!" The girl answered her unspoken question, pointing a finger. "I'm warning you, stay away from my dad! You're the kind of woman who gets around, acting all innocent to get his money and power! My dad might fall for it, but I won't!"

So, she was Ryan's daughter. Sienna laughed, rubbing her aching cheek. "Ms. Jones, let me ask you, does your father know you're here today?"

The girl paused, her expression stiffening. "My dad's been fooled by you, you vixen! He doesn't need to know! I'll be the one to reveal the truth about you! I'm warning you, leave my dad alone! Or else, don't blame me for being unkind!"

She glared at Sienna as if she could devour her.
