Chapter 78

Back at the intersection at Lyceum Street, Sienna saw a familiar black Bentley. It was hard to ignore such a luxurious car, especially with Zaid leaning against the door, as if waiting for her.

Zaid waved and exclaimed, โ€œMs. Shaw!โ€

Sienna, puzzled, walked over. โ€œZaid, whatโ€™s wrong? Is Miranda looking for me?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Zaid said, pointing to the car with a complicated expression.

Just then, the car window rolled down, revealing Josiahโ€™s handsome face. His eyes narrowed as he spoke in a cold tone, โ€œGet in.โ€

Feeling frightened, Sienna clung to Zaid. โ€œZaid, heโ€™s calling you.โ€

Zaid smiled wryly. โ€œMs. Shaw, please donโ€™t joke. After all, thereโ€™s no need for Josiah to wait for an old man in the middle of the night.โ€ Sienna frowned and reluctantly opened the back door, bending to get in. She sat upright, placing her hands on her knees, barely daring to breathe.

โ€œWhere have you been? Why are you just coming back now?โ€ Josiah lifted his watch, feigning a glance at it. โ€œThe show ended at eleven, and itโ€™s past midnight now.โ€

She thought he knew everything. Sienna turned to him. โ€œDonโ€™t you already know?โ€

โ€œI want you to tell me.โ€ Suddenly, Josiah called out, his long fingers reaching up to grasp her chin. He leaned closer, his face inches from hers. In a low voice, he asked, โ€œWhere have you been? Who were you with? What did you do?โ€

Sienna froze, unable to move. Josiahโ€™s striking appearance was accentuated by the soft light outlining his silhouette; a man who could charm anyone without uttering a word. She had, of course, been one of those captivated.

Sienna took a deep breath. โ€œI ate pizza with Cedric.โ€

โ€œPizza!โ€ Josiah raised an eyebrow, his expression unreadable as his fingers rubbed her chin. โ€œWhat topping? How did it taste?โ€

Sienna thought, What kind of question is that? Surprised, she nodded blankly. โ€œCheese pizza. Not bad.โ€

As she finished speaking, a heavy silence fell over the car. The tension lingered for about ten seconds, making Sienna uncomfortable. She tried to push him away. โ€œIf thereโ€™s nothing else, Iโ€™ll just leave.โ€

Suddenly, her shoulder was grabbed firmly as Josiah pushed her back into the seat. Sienna screamed in pain.

A coldness gleamed in Josiahโ€™s eyes, a smirk playing on his thin lips. โ€œSienna, the divorce application is void. Come back to me.โ€

Sienna was shocked and terrified. She had never experienced such pain. Her body trembled uncontrollably, and she clenched her hands, trying to lessen the fear.

โ€œWhat did you say?โ€ Sienna thought sheโ€™d misheard.

โ€œDidnโ€™t you hear me clearly? Fine, Iโ€™ll say it again.โ€ Josiah looked at her with a half-smile. โ€œArenโ€™t you just looking for a man? Someone who can take care of you. So why donโ€™t you come back to me?โ€

Josiah shifted from holding her chin to gently touching her face. โ€œItโ€™s late. Tomorrow, weโ€™ll tell Miranda about this.โ€

His voice softened as he continued, โ€œMiranda has always wanted us to be together. Sheโ€™ll be happy to know thatโ€”โ€

โ€œJosiah,โ€ Sienna interrupted, growing more frightened. Her face was pale in the dim light. โ€œStop it. Just stop it.โ€

Heโ€™s so strange, Sienna thought. He kissed me out of nowhere and wants me back. I donโ€™t know why he did this. Whether heโ€™s crazy or has some evil plan, we are done.

Sienna curved her lips into a smile. โ€œI disagree. I wonโ€™t come back to you.โ€ Actually, thatโ€™s not quite right. After all, Iโ€™ve never really been by his side.

โ€œWhat did you say?โ€ Josiah paused, a smile playing on his lips. โ€œSay it again.โ€

She knew heโ€™d heard her. Sienna clenched her fists. โ€œStop messing around. Look, Iโ€™m Sienna. You hate me, left me abroad, and abandoned me.โ€

โ€œCome back to me. I need you.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ve changed my mind.โ€ Josiah looked down at her, his gaze intense.

Sienna was at a loss, staring at the man so close to her, his overwhelming presence making her afraid and shiver.

What was he saying? Sienna thought angrily. Did he know heโ€™s an asshole? Iโ€™m not someone he can want one moment and discard the next.

However, Sienna didnโ€™t bother arguing. The words they hadnโ€™t said four years ago didnโ€™t need to be said now.

โ€œNo,โ€ she shook her head stiffly. โ€œI donโ€™t want to.โ€

No? Why not? Josiah thought. Iโ€™ve tried my best to be nice to her.

After being rejected again, Josiahโ€™s patience was wearing thin. He narrowed his eyes, his gaze turning frosty. โ€œWhen Iโ€™m being nice, youโ€™d better appreciate it and not act too high-handed.โ€

Sienna sneered; even when asking for something, he still acted superior. She felt unfairly treated. Iโ€™m notโ€ฆ Sienna felt her blood freezing as she shook her head firmly. I donโ€™t really understand you. You love Yvette, so you should say this to her, not me.

As soon as she finished speaking, Josiahโ€™s already icy face darkened further. Everyone in Jelacrity knew Yvette was Josiahโ€™s unrequited love, his lifeโ€™s regret. Nobody would mention it to him. Besides, Yvette was Howardโ€™s wife. Unfortunately, Sienna had struck a nerve.

Seeing Josiahโ€™s upset, Sienna pressed on. โ€œIf you like her so much, why donโ€™t you go after her? Howard couldnโ€™t wake up anyway. As long as you love each otherโ€ฆโ€

Josiah said coldly, โ€œSienna, donโ€™t think that just because I spoil you now, you can say whatever you want.โ€

Spoil me? That was the funniest joke! Sienna thought.

Sienna closed her eyes, feeling as if invisible daggers were stabbing her heart. I genuinely hope your years of waiting will pay off, and you will win the beautyโ€™s heart.

โ€œSienna.โ€ Finally, her words enraged Josiah. His fingers left her face, clenching into a fist. He was so angry he wanted to punch something.
