Chapter 82

Sienna staggered as Josiah caught her in his arms, nearly losing her balance. "What's wrong with you?" Johnson asked. No need to ask; Sienna could smell the alcohol on his breath. "Are you drunk?" she asked.

"No, I'm not drunk," Josiah said. Drunk people never admit it, even when they can't stand straight. The bottle of red wine had been all hisโ€”Sienna hadn't had a drop. If he wasn't drunk, then who was? she wondered.

Sienna tried to steady him, holding his arm. "Can you still walk?"

"Yeah," Josiah nodded, leaning heavily on her. "If you help me, I can walk."

Sienna remained silent. She couldn't just leave him, could she? She conceded. "Alright. I'll hold onto you. Take it slow."

"Sure." Josiah looked down at her, noticing her long, curly lashes. She blinked, and those lashes brushed against his heart, making it flutter.

As they left the booth and headed for the main hall, a familiar voice called from behind. Turning, they saw Yvette.

"You two..." Josiah rested his arm on Sienna's shoulder. Instead of her supporting him, it looked like he was hugging her. "What are you two doing?" Yvette approached, making sure she wasn't mistaken.

Surprise showed in her eyes as they darted between them. How did they end up together, looking so close? Noticing Yvette's gaze, Sienna struggled to free herself from Josiah's embrace.

"What are you doing?" Josiah frowned as Sienna became restless. Annoyed, he said, "Stop moving! You'll make me fall!"

Sienna was astonished. He seemed truly drunk! Leaning on her in front of Yvette? Wasn't he worried about upsetting her? She thought, Never mind, I've already warned him. If he ends up arguing with Yvette later, it's not my fault. Sienna turned her head.

Josiah, a hint of a smile on his face, looked at Yvette. His tone remained casual: "We had dinner together. What about you?"

Yvette pointed inside. "Cast party." Her doubt grew. Was their relationship one where they could simply have a meal together?

Yvette tugged at her lips, smiling. "The director and producer are here. Do you want to go over and say hi?"

"No thanks," Josiah smiled, declining. "I won't get involved in your crew's business."

Yvette's smile faded. "Then..."

Josiah gave a slight nod, signaling her to go ahead.

"All right then." Yvette pressed her lips together, glanced at Sienna, and walked away. However, she didn't go far, simply standing at the corner, watching Josiah and Sienna leave.

Did he just let Yvette leave like that? Sienna thought. From Yvette's expression, she seemed reluctant... Could it be that they had a...?

"What are you thinking about?" Josiah, as if boneless, leaned against Sienna. "Pay the bill for me."

"Oh, okay." Sienna snapped back to reality, nodded, and asked, "Where's your phone?"

"In my pocket," he replied, not moving, leaning on Sienna as he began to doze.

Sienna was dumbfounded. Am I supposed to get it myself? Fine, if that's the case, I'd do it. Sienna gritted her teeth, leaned over, and reached into his suit pocket. Left sideโ€”nothing. She shifted, trying the right sideโ€ฆ still empty.

"There's nothing there," Sienna tilted her head back, looking at him. Her clear eyes reflected his handsome face.

Josiah chuckled, whispering in her ear, "Try the inner pocket."

Sienna thought, The inner pocket? I know suits have inner pockets, of course. But he actually wants me to reach in... Don't joke with me! Wouldn't that mean I'm touching him!

Sienna lifted her hand, her brow furrowing deeply. "What should I do?"

"Come on," Josiah urged. "Don't keep them waiting. They think I'm skipping out on the bill."

Having no choice, Sienna took action. Josiah raised an eyebrow as his Adam's apple bobbed slightly. She unbuttoned his suit jacket, opened it, and reached in without touching him to retrieve his phone.

Feeling smug, she waved it at Josiah. "Got it!"

"Hmm," Josiah grunted. Sienna is smart when she shouldn't be, he thought.

Sienna unlocked the phone using facial recognition, paid the bill, and returned the phone to his pocket. "Alright, we can go now."

"Yeah, let's go."

From around the corner, Yvette watched, her makeup flawless, her expression unreadable. What's going on? How did they become so close all of a sudden? What happened? Did everything change overnight? she wondered.

Outside, Sienna was stunned. "Did Zaid leave already?"

She looked sharply at Josiah. "You just drank alcohol, so you can't drive!"

So how are we getting back? Are we supposed to crawl? she thought in frustration.

Josiah raised an eyebrow, finding her fierce demeanor adorable. "What are you worried about? I drank, but you didn't. You can drive." He remembered Sienna had a driver's license from her time in Jeiacrity before going abroad. Back then, she often used the excuse of practicing driving to spend time with him. He tossed her the car keys.

"Heyโ€”" Sienna instinctively caught them. "I can't drive..."

But Josiah was already in the passenger seat, leaving her no option. Helpless, Sienna felt completely under his control as she reluctantly got into the car, gripping the steering wheel nervously. She did have a license, but hadn't driven in years.

Nervous, Josiah chuckled, leaning over to fasten her seatbelt. "Just go slow, there's no rush."

"Alright," Sienna took a deep breath. "If I take you back, can you let me go back to Maze to dance?" By then, she hadn't forgotten why she'd come to see him.

"Go ahead and drive," Josiah raised an eyebrow, avoiding the question. I'm not used to talking about things in the car. He was thrilled with the power.

"Where to?"

"To the Flynn residence."
