Chapter 55

“It’s just a dream, my loves,” Hailey said, caressing Enzo’s cheek because he was seated closer to her.

“I know, Mommy. But dreams can come true, right?” “Yeah, they can. But if I have a big belly, the baby could be a boy.” Enzo and Ollie stared at each other, then both shook their heads. “You all don’t want a boy?” “No, Mommy. We want a baby sister so we can take care of her,” Ollie stated. “Okay,” Hailey mumbled, unsure what else to say. “You promise?” Enzo smirked. “Promise what?” “You told us before that we should always ask you if we need anything, and you would provide it for us,” Ollie said. “I will speak to your Daddy about it and let you all know what we decide.” Ollie was about to speak, but Hailey was relieved when the doorbell rang. The twins jumped from the bed and ran to the door, knowing it was their Daddy. Hailey sighed, stood up, and followed them. They struggled to open the door, so Hailey helped. “Daddy!!!!!!!” The boys hugged Cole’s legs. Cole freed himself and picked them up. He kissed their cheeks. “Are you ready for our trip?” “Yes, Daddy,” Enzo answered; Ollie nodded. Holding the children, Cole approached Hailey and kissed her. She was surprised and couldn't avoid him. “Ewwwww!” “Awww!” Enzo and Ollie cooed. Ollie covered his eyes. Cole chuckled, while Hailey looked like she might faint from embarrassment. “Don’t be gross, Ollie. That’s sweet. Daddy loves Mommy so much.” “Okay, buddies. Let’s get you to the car.”

“I’ll be right back,” Cole said to Hailey, then took the boys to the car. He returned in a minute. Hailey was in the living room, stuffing three iPads into her designer handbag. “Need help?” Cole asked. “No,” she mumbled, avoiding his eyes. Cole closed the distance, making her look at him. “Are you mad at me?” “Why do you ask?” “The kiss.” “It’s nothing.” She tried to turn away, but he stopped her. “I know it lasted a few seconds, but it meant everything to me, okay?” “I don’t know what to say.” “It’s fine. Take your time.” “I hope you packed lots of clothes for this trip. We’ll be going on dates.” “As a family?” “Some as a family, some just the two of us.” “Who’s going to watch the boys?” “I’ve already arranged that.” “Maybe we should set some rules for this trip.” “No,” Cole answered immediately. He shook his head, took her hand, and kissed it. “Our first family vacation, and I promise to make it worthwhile. Please trust me.” “Be free with me, please.” Hailey nodded, speechless. “Thank you.” Cole smiled, kissed the crown of her head, and took the bags to the car.

The family spent seven hours in the air and about an hour on the road. After what felt like an eternity to Hailey, they arrived at a luxurious villa in the Bahamas at 8:52 p.m. The two-story building, beautifully decorated, had a pool and a nearby beach.

The driver helped bring in the bags. The boys were asleep, so Cole took them to their bedroom one at a time. “You like it?” Cole smiled, seeing Hailey looking around. Hailey mumbled, “It’s beautiful.” “Let me give you a tour.” He didn’t wait for her response. He took her hand and led the way. Cole started on the ground floor, showing her the living room, game room, laundry room, bathroom, and ending in the gorgeous kitchen. “No bedrooms downstairs?” “No, babe. Both rooms are upstairs.” “Both rooms?” “Yes. One for us, and one for the kids.” Hailey shook her head. “You didn’t expect me to book separate rooms for us, right?” Hailey swallowed, dreading the thought of sharing a room with Cole. “Isn’t that too extreme?” Cole shook his head, closing the distance. He caressed her cheek. “Are you scared I’m going to do something to you?” “You gonna hurt me?” she whispered, but he heard her clearly. “Why would you think that?” Hailey shrugged, unsure what to say. She knew he wouldn’t hurt her, but felt intimidated. He cupped her face. “Why are you holding back?” “I don’t know what I’m doing here or how I should act around you.” “I’m not a terrible person. I promise you.” “You changed. I know. But the stigma still bothers me.” “What can I do to make it go away?” Hailey shrugged. “I like you, Hailey, and I’d be stupid to do anything to upset you.” “Prove it.” “Sorry?” Cole said.

Chapter 55

“I want to see you prove it.” “You sure?” Cole raised an eyebrow. “There’s no going back,” he warned. Before Hailey could react, Cole kissed her. He nibbled on her lower lip, then smiled when she yielded. Hailey gasped when Cole lifted her onto the marble counter. He raised her hand and pulled her shirt over her head. Cole saw her chest rise and fall, highlighting her breasts in her black half-bra, which only covered her nipples. Cole kissed her neck and cleavage. She moaned, filling him with pride. Cole unhooked her bra and let it fall to the floor.
