Chapter 121: Clara
These past few days have been pure bliss. Luca and Delilah no longer had to hide their relationship, and although Damon pretended to hate it, I knew he was secretly happy that Delilah had found someone he trusted implicitly. To top it off, I hadn't seen Aurora since my hospital visit. Dimitri told me she'd been discharged, and I'd expected a confrontation, but she'd stayed away, which was a relief. Damon and I planned a vacation to Bora Bora, and I was ecstatic. I'd never been, and from the pictures and videos, it looked like paradise.
"Why don't I help the cook prepare breakfast?" I suggested, standing and walking to Damon, who was getting ready in front of the mirror. I wrapped my arms around his waist. He turned, kissed my forehead, and caressed my face.
"Isn't that stressful?" he asked softly.
I shook my head. "I love cooking for you, so it's not. Just tell me what you want, and I'll prepare it."
He chuckled. "If I tell you what I want, you won't leave this room," he said, and I gasped dramatically, slapping his chest. "How many times do I have to tell you to stop thinking with your dick?" I scolded. His laughter brought a smile to my face. Damon was glowing these days; the grumpy man I'd first met was gone.
"I'll be right back with the food," I said, tiptoeing to kiss his lips before practically skipping from the room.
"Mrs. Donovan," the butler called as I reached the kitchen.
"Yes?" I asked, smiling. He smiled back. "Miss Aurora is here and requests your presence."
A groan escaped me. It had been too good to be true. "Where is she?"
He pointed to the living room. Sighing, I decided to confront her before making breakfast.
"I knew it was too good to be true," I said entering the living room after dismissing the butler. "That you'd leave Damon and me alone."
She just stared, seemingly analyzing me. "If you have nothing to say, leave my house," I said, turning to go.
She chuckled. "Your house? Well, yes, I suppose it's yours for now. There's nothing special about you, you know that, right?"
I raised an eyebrow. "Excuse me?"
She stood slowly. "Compared to me, you're practically dust. Why did Damon settle for someone like you?" she asked, genuinely curious. I chuckled.

"Why don't you ask him yourself?" I asked. She tilted her head.
"I would have, but your jealous self wouldn't let me near him," she said. I smiled humorlessly.
"I'm glad you're self-aware. In fact, you're no longer welcome here. If you don't want to be forcibly removed, never set foot in this building again," I said. Her face fell; the innocent look vanished.
"You have no idea who you're messing with, Clara," she said.
I raised an eyebrow. Was she trying to intimidate me? "Oh, I have an idea. Dimitri told me how devious you are. I'll always be one step ahead of you, but unlike you, I don't play dirty."
A slow smile appeared on her lips. "Oh really? Unlike you, I have no loved ones, nothing to lose. And do you know what's scarier than someone with nothing to lose? Nothing." Her crazed look started to scare me, but I wouldn't back down.
"If you have nothing important to say, leave," I said. She giggled.
"I happen to know you're often alone when Damon's away for work. It would be a shame if something happened to you by accident, wouldn't it? A fall down the stairs, poison, perhaps a stabbing? Who knows?"
I frowned. Was she threatening me? "You're threatening me," I stated.
She laughed. "Of course not. How could I threaten a Luna? The future Queen Luna? That's practically treason. But this world is scary. Watch your back, even while bathing or sleeping. Many want you dead." She moved closer, standing directly in front of me.
"Thanks for your concern, but I can take care of myself," I said. She shrugged.
"Very well. Goodbye, Clara. And oh Aunt Amelia, was it? She raised you, didn't she? She should watch her back too. The possibilities of her death are endless."
As soon as she spoke, I slapped her hard across the face. She fell, screaming, then glared at me. Before she could speak, I slapped her again. Grabbing her face, I dug my fingers into her skin, staring intently into her eyes.
"You can threaten me, but you made a mistake threatening Aunt Amelia. Count your days. I'll make sure you leave here alive."
