Chapter 93 - Clara

I slowly blinked open my eyes and was about to get out of bed when Damon's arms tightened around my waist. He rested his head on my chest, snuggling close. "Where are you going, baby?" he asked. My body instantly reacted to his morning voice—so deep and husky, I'm not sure anyone could resist it.

"I need to pee badly, Damon," I murmured. He groaned, reluctantly letting me go. I immediately jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. Feeling relieved, I returned to the bedroom to find Damon leaning on his elbow, watching me from the bed.

"Is it just me, or are you getting extremely lazy and clingy these days?" I murmured, crawling back into bed.

"I'm only lazy because you spoil me, Clara. And why wouldn't I be clingy when I have my love in my arms? If I could, I'd attach you to me," he murmured jokingly, though I knew he meant every word. I grinned and kissed him.

"Well, you're fully healed now, and I can't baby you anymore. Besides, I have a meeting with the little boy's mother today," I said, a frown appearing on my face. I'd given Damon the freedom to search for the boy's mother yesterday, and Luca had announced last night that she'd been found and wanted to see her son.

Seeing my frown, Damon took my hand and kissed my cheek. "It's going to be okay. May I ask why you never gave him a name? You only ever called him 'little boy'," he pointed out.

I sighed. "Because I knew one day I'd have to let him go—he wasn't really mine. Giving him a name would have made me more attached, so I saved myself that heartache," I explained. He stared at me for a while, then sat up. I leaned against him, resting my head on his chest and listening to his steady heartbeat.

"Don't be sad if his mother takes him away. Just know that you saved him that day, and no matter what, I have a feeling he'll always remember you, even as a child. We wolves never forget that easily," he murmured. I giggled.

"I'm just glad I got to experience being a mother for a while. Hopefully, we'll have our own child soon," I said. He took my hand and kissed it.

"For all the sex we've been having, you might already be pregnant," he murmured. I giggled as he peppered kisses on my face, stopping only when a knock sounded at the door.

"Come in," Damon murmured, sighing as Luca entered. "I didn't mean to disturb you, but we need to leave, Alpha. Everything is ready," Luca announced.

I turned to Damon, questioning, "What's going on? Are you going somewhere?"

He kissed my forehead. "Only a day or two. I have to deal with the people who tried to hurt you. Don't worry about me; I won't let anyone touch me this time," he said. I stared into his eyes, then sighed. "Be careful," I murmured, and we embraced.

Chapter 93 (Continued)

Just then, Delilah walked in, wearing a very sexy blue gown and sunglasses, carrying luggage.

"Good morning. I came to speak with Clara," she said, approaching the bed. I heard Damon groan as I pulled away from him.

"Are you going somewhere?" I asked. She nodded.

"I'll be gone for a week or so. My friends and I are going to the Bahamas, and I wanted to let you know before I left," she said, opening her arms to Damon.

"Who gave you the right to go to the Bahamas? Did you ask anyone's permission?" Damon demanded. I knew she was rolling her eyes, even with the sunglasses.

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm old enough to make my own decisions and go wherever I want," she retorted. He scoffed. "And that's why you keep making stupid decisions and getting yourself into trouble," he murmured. I expected a comeback, but she paused, sighing.

"I'm done talking to you. I came here for Clara. I wish you could come with me, but my over-obsessive and possessive brother won't let you," she said.

"First time you said something smart," Damon murmured behind me, and I rolled my eyes.

"Well, Damon doesn't control me, and I might take you up on your offer," I said. As predicted, Damon wrapped his arms around me, resting his head on my shoulder. "I won't let you leave me," he murmured.

"But you're free to leave me?" I asked. He pouted. "It's just for a day or two," he said. I rolled my eyes.

"I'll go with you, Deli—"

"I'll be back tonight," he hurried, and I grinned, kissing him.

"Ugh, I never thought I'd see Damon so…so…it irks me and makes me want to vomit," Delilah uttered. Realizing we weren't alone, Damon straightened, clearing his throat and glaring at her. "Not a word of this to anyone," he muttered. I giggled while Delilah rolled her eyes.

"Ugh, love, I'm an avid hater right now. See you guys later. I'll send pictures, Clara. Bye," Delilah said, starting to leave. Luca spoke, "Those friends…do we know them?"

She scoffed. "None of your business," she muttered, exiting the room. I never thought I'd see the day Luca… Did something bad happen between them?

"He's a child, ignore him," Damon muttered, climbing out of bed, oblivious to what I'd noticed. I turned to Luca; he avoided my gaze. Something was definitely wrong, and I was going to find out. This is property © NovelDrama.Org.
