Lavonne glanced at me and turned on her phone’s speakerphone. I held my breath and stared at the phone. Reynaldo’s gloomy voice quickly came from the other end: “Where was Esmeralda?”

I was so shocked I couldn’t speak. Reynaldo had actually found me and brought Lavonne here. Lavonne, a master of performance, instantly entered her acting role. She looked worriedly at her phone and said, “What happened to Ralda? Is she missing? She didn’t come to see me!”

“Reynaldo, did you do something to Ralda again? Did you make her angry and leave?” I admired Lavonne and gave her a thumbs-up. Her anxious tone didn’t seem like acting at all. Lavonne smiled proudly.

However, the next second, Reynaldo’s gloomy voice boomed from the phone: “Don’t think I don’t know she’s with you. Tell her, if she doesn’t show up within an hour, don’t blame me for being rude to her!”
