He suddenly shouted my full name, which made my heart skip a beat.
“You had better not have lied to me. If you lied to me and really reached some kind of agreement with that Matthew, no matter what your reasons are, I will hate you.”
My heart “stung” again.
I raised my hand and gently smoothed his furrowed brow, forcing a smile as I said, “Don’t worry, I won’t deceive you. Reynaldo, you are not as easily fooled as before.”
Reynaldo pursed his thin lips and grasped my hand tightly, finally no longer questioning my words.

That night, Matthew and Moshe, along with their group, finally left Freybourne and traveled by water.
It seems that their young lady also traveled by water, and they happened to meet her on their way.

Finally, at noon, Matthew sent me a message.
He said he had already taken Moshe and their young lady back to Roxafito.
He also used the oath I sent in the text message to remind me of our deal.
I leaned against the window, watching the faintly swaying bare branches in the yard, feeling as if “Freybourne” had finally calmed down, yet also feeling anxious that beneath this calm, a storm was brewing.
A sudden sound of the door opening brought me back to reality, and the familiar sound of footsteps echoed behind me.
I quickly lowered my eyes, deleted the conversation record with Matthew, and blocked his number.

“The meal is ready, we can go downstairs to eat. After eating, I’ll take you to see Johnathan and Vonnie.”
“Okay,” I replied happily.
These days, I specifically focused on dealing with Matthew and didn’t even have time to go see Vonnie.
As I was walking out with Reynaldo, he suddenly glanced down at my phone.

After a moment, I calmly handed him my phone and said, “Do you want to take a look at my phone?”
“I didn’t look!”
Reynaldo muttered those words and then tightly held my hand, leading me downstairs.
I glanced at his tense profile and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Just the thought of what happened after New Year’s Eve weighed heavily on my heart like a huge stone, making me feel uncomfortable and burdened.
When I arrived at Johnathan’s house, Johnathan was in the room with Vonnie.
Braylon was also there; he must have come to see Johnathan too.
Just as we were passing by, Braylon was chatting with Gracie in the living room.
Accurately speaking, it was Gracie who was chatting with Braylon, and Braylon, facing the elders, was obviously a bit reserved.
My arrival with Reynaldo seemed to have rescued him; I could see him visibly heave a sigh of relief.
“Ralda, Reynaldo, you guys are here.”
Johnathan was fine, and Gracie was in high spirits.
