“They were not bastards!” I snapped.

“Despicable, shameless, and disgusting!” I gritted my teeth, then disregarded everything and rushed towards the door. I couldn't sit and wait for death. Once Trevin arrived, and that door closed, I was finished.

As I rushed to the door, Auntie pushed me. In that moment, I don't know where the strength came from, but I shoved her away. She crashed into the wall, cursing, “I didn't expect it, you bitch, you're quite strong!”

Ignoring her, I panicked out the door, trying to regain my composure. But I immediately bumped into Trevin. Auntie’s shout followed: “Son, catch her!”

Trevin glanced at me and dragged me back inside. Terrified, I screamed, “Help! Let go!”

As Trevin pulled me in, our neighbor opened his door. “What are you doing? It’s late, and you’re shouting—let people sleep!”

I cried out, “Help! They’re going to rape me!”

The neighbor stared in disbelief. “What? What did you say?”

Panic flashed across Trevin’s face. Auntie quickly smiled at him. “It’s nothing, just children quarreling. We’re trying to calm her down.”
