Chapter 140
The nurse immediately frowned upon hearing that the IV needle had to be adjusted. She was clearly irritated.
โDidnโt I tell you when I first inserted the needle not to move around? Why donโt any of you listen?โ
Rachel didnโt get angry at first. She understood it wasnโt easy for medical staff these days, juggling shifts and overtime. Being in a bad mood was understandable.
She apologized politely. โIโm really sorry. I moved a little without noticing. Could you please adjust it for me?โ
The nurse walked over and grabbed Rachelโs hand a little too forcefully, causing Rachel to cry out in pain.
โOww!โ
The nurse frowned even more. She raised her voice.
โNow it hurts, huh? Why werenโt you concerned when you were moving around earlier? Do you have any idea how busy we are today? We donโt have the time to reinsert IV drips for every careless patient!โ
Rachel bit her lip and said nothing, figuring it was better to let things go.
The nurse continued muttering as she prepared a new needle. โYou patients treat the hospital like some kind of retirement home, expecting us to be your personal maids.โ
Rachel clenched her jaw against the pain, silently hoping the woman would just hurry up and finish.
Suddenly, the nurse was shoved aside.
โGet lost.โ
The voice was deep, laced with barely restrained anger. Just hearing it was enough to know this man was not someone to mess with.
Rachel was stunned. She hadnโt expected Tyler to step in for her.
The nurse stumbled backward and nearly fell. She looked up furiously at Tyler. โWhatโs your problem?โ
Tyler loomed over her with a cold gaze. โYou call this patient care? If you donโt want to do your job, then leave.โ
The nurse scoffed. โWhatโs it to you?โ
Tylerโs voice was harsh. โYou can resign right now.โ
The nurse lifted her chin defiantly. โWhy should I? Do you own the place? Do you think you can just order people around like that?โ
Rachel muttered quietly beside them, โYouโd be surprised. He kind of does have that power.โ
The nurse finally took a good look at Tyler. His suit clearly wasnโt cheap, and there was an unmistakable aura of authority about him. He had a refined yet intimidating presence.
Her confidence wavered. โY-Youโre bluffing, right? Donโt try to scare me.โ
Tyler wasnโt one for empty threats. He retrieved his phone, called the hospitalโs deputy director, Noah Trevor, and explained the situation.
Within minutes, Noah arrived. Once he understood what had happened, he immediately turned to Rachel and apologized.
โIโm truly sorry. This was entirely our nurseโs fault. Iโll take care of it myself and make sure it doesnโt hurt.โ
Noahโs sudden appearance left the nurse in shock.
She finally realized she had seriously messed up. Her face went pale, and she rushed over, stammering. โDr. Trevor, who exactly is this guy?โ
Noah, who had been smiling politely at Tyler a second ago, turned and shot her a deadly glare. โYou idiot. Donโt you recognize Mr. Hunt? Heโs one of the hospitalโs major shareholders! Without his investment, forget you, weโd all be out on the street.โ
The nurse stood there in stunned silence.
The man before her was actually a major shareholder of the hospital. She truly had messed with the wrong person.
