Chapter 140

The nurse immediately frowned upon hearing that the IV needle had to be adjusted. She was clearly irritated.

โ€œDidnโ€™t I tell you when I first inserted the needle not to move around? Why donโ€™t any of you listen?โ€

Rachel didnโ€™t get angry at first. She understood it wasnโ€™t easy for medical staff these days, juggling shifts and overtime. Being in a bad mood was understandable.

She apologized politely. โ€œIโ€™m really sorry. I moved a little without noticing. Could you please adjust it for me?โ€

The nurse walked over and grabbed Rachelโ€™s hand a little too forcefully, causing Rachel to cry out in pain.

โ€œOww!โ€

The nurse frowned even more. She raised her voice.

โ€œNow it hurts, huh? Why werenโ€™t you concerned when you were moving around earlier? Do you have any idea how busy we are today? We donโ€™t have the time to reinsert IV drips for every careless patient!โ€

Rachel bit her lip and said nothing, figuring it was better to let things go.

The nurse continued muttering as she prepared a new needle. โ€œYou patients treat the hospital like some kind of retirement home, expecting us to be your personal maids.โ€

Rachel clenched her jaw against the pain, silently hoping the woman would just hurry up and finish.

Suddenly, the nurse was shoved aside.

โ€œGet lost.โ€

The voice was deep, laced with barely restrained anger. Just hearing it was enough to know this man was not someone to mess with.

Rachel was stunned. She hadnโ€™t expected Tyler to step in for her.

The nurse stumbled backward and nearly fell. She looked up furiously at Tyler. โ€œWhatโ€™s your problem?โ€

Tyler loomed over her with a cold gaze. โ€œYou call this patient care? If you donโ€™t want to do your job, then leave.โ€

The nurse scoffed. โ€œWhatโ€™s it to you?โ€

Tylerโ€™s voice was harsh. โ€œYou can resign right now.โ€

The nurse lifted her chin defiantly. โ€œWhy should I? Do you own the place? Do you think you can just order people around like that?โ€

Rachel muttered quietly beside them, โ€œYouโ€™d be surprised. He kind of does have that power.โ€

The nurse finally took a good look at Tyler. His suit clearly wasnโ€™t cheap, and there was an unmistakable aura of authority about him. He had a refined yet intimidating presence.

Her confidence wavered. โ€œY-Youโ€™re bluffing, right? Donโ€™t try to scare me.โ€

Tyler wasnโ€™t one for empty threats. He retrieved his phone, called the hospitalโ€™s deputy director, Noah Trevor, and explained the situation.

Within minutes, Noah arrived. Once he understood what had happened, he immediately turned to Rachel and apologized.

โ€œIโ€™m truly sorry. This was entirely our nurseโ€™s fault. Iโ€™ll take care of it myself and make sure it doesnโ€™t hurt.โ€

Noahโ€™s sudden appearance left the nurse in shock.

She finally realized she had seriously messed up. Her face went pale, and she rushed over, stammering. โ€œDr. Trevor, who exactly is this guy?โ€

Noah, who had been smiling politely at Tyler a second ago, turned and shot her a deadly glare. โ€œYou idiot. Donโ€™t you recognize Mr. Hunt? Heโ€™s one of the hospitalโ€™s major shareholders! Without his investment, forget you, weโ€™d all be out on the street.โ€

The nurse stood there in stunned silence.

The man before her was actually a major shareholder of the hospital. She truly had messed with the wrong person.
