Chapter 197

Rachelโ€™s old friends rarely came back to visit. These past few years, all her energy had been poured into William and work, so much so that she no longer had a life of her own.

If she wanted to go out for a drink, the only person she could really call was Cecilia.

But thinking of Ceciliaโ€™s current situation, Rachel could only force a bitter smile. With all the drama going on in Ceciliaโ€™s family, there was no way sheโ€™d have the time or energy to come out drinking.

At this point, the only person left she could go to was Tyler.

Tyler raised an eyebrow with a faint smirk. โ€œDidnโ€™t think you had it in you, Rachel.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s just a drink. Itโ€™s not like Iโ€™m marching into a burning building.โ€

Just then, Tim came back with two bottles of water.

Tyler took them and opened the car door before giving him an order. โ€œYou can head back.โ€

โ€œMr. Hunt, where are you headed? I can take you.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s fine. Iโ€™ll call when Iโ€™m done.โ€

Tim nodded. โ€œUnderstood.โ€

After he left, Tyler handed Rachel one of the bottles. โ€œItโ€™s late. His wifeโ€™s on the night shift. He has to go home and take care of his child.โ€

Rachel was a little surprised. Was Tyler really that considerate? Then again, come to think of it, he was hard to define.

One could say he was a good guy, but he had watched Howard bully her without lifting a finger. Yet tonight, heโ€™d come to her rescue.

There was no clear line between good and bad with Tyler. He drifted somewhere in between.

Feeling curious, Rachel asked, โ€œSo do you always let him go home at this hour?โ€

โ€œSometimes. If I need him, he works.โ€

Tyler opened the driverโ€™s door and slid into the seat. He then turned to Rachel. โ€œSit up front.โ€

Rachel looked puzzled. โ€œWhy? Iโ€™m fine back here.โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t like talking to empty space. And I donโ€™t think you want me turning around while Iโ€™m driving, right?โ€

The moment he said it, Rachel pictured him twisting his body while behind the wheel. One mistake, and theyโ€™d both be dead. Reluctantly, she got out and moved to the front.

They drove off. But instead of heading to a bar, Tyler stopped at a shopping mall.

He got out, turned back to her, and said, โ€œGet out.โ€

Rachel hadnโ€™t even figured out what was happening. Tyler was already walking toward the entrance.

It wasnโ€™t until then that she noticed it was a clothing mall. Despite how late it was, one of the stores was still lit inside.

She looked down at herself. She was barely dressed, and what little she had left was messed up. Going anywhere public like this was slightly inappropriate.

She followed Tyler inside.

The sales associate inside looked like she had just been dragged out of bed. She straightened up the moment she saw Tyler and plastered on a professional-looking smile.

โ€œMr. Hunt.โ€

Tyler shifted slightly to the side to reveal Rachel behind him. โ€œPick something out for her.โ€

The sales associate gave Rachel a once-over with a strange look before smiling again.

โ€œMiss, please follow me.โ€

None of them noticed a pair of eyes watching from outside the entrance. The person quickly raised their phone and took a photo.
