Listen to this chapter:

Rachel followed behind the sales assistant, who patiently brought the clothes to her.

โ€œThis dress would look great on you. Your figure is amazing. Youโ€™d look good in anything. Your skin is fair too, and the color will really complement your complexion.โ€

Rachel knew it wasnโ€™t right to drag people out of bed this late, so she didnโ€™t bother being picky. โ€œThis oneโ€™s fine,โ€ she said right away.

The sales assistant let out a sigh of relief. She had expected a difficult customer, but Rachel was surprisingly easygoing.

When Rachel stepped out of the fitting room after changing, the assistantโ€™s eyes lit up. Any trace of sleepiness was gone.

โ€œMiss, you look absolutely stunning in that dress! Itโ€™s like it was custom-made just for you.โ€

The dress itself was simple. It had a strap with feathery layers sewn into the fabric. Rachelโ€™s tall and slender figure, with perfect proportions, made her a natural fit. Her long, fair legs were especially striking.

โ€œThis dress is really hard to pull off. Lots of people have tried it on before, but on you? Itโ€™s perfect.โ€

Rachel simply smiled. โ€œYouโ€™re very sweet. Thanks, Iโ€™ll take this one.โ€

The assistant was just about to process the purchase.

โ€œWait a second.โ€ Tyler walked over, crossed his arms, and gave Rachel a once-over with a frown. โ€œPick a different one. Preferably a long dress with no straps.โ€

Rachel and the sales assistant both fell silent.

Even so, the assistant responded quickly and professionally. โ€œOh, of course, Iโ€™ll get another one right away.โ€

She soon returned with a more conservative option. It was a two-piece set with a grey knit short-sleeve top and a matching pleated skirt. It still flattered Rachelโ€™s long legs and complimented her slim figure.

The sales assistant had sold clothes for years, but she couldnโ€™t remember seeing such beautiful legs.

Rachel thought it looked good too.

Tyler rubbed his chin and finally nodded with satisfaction. โ€œWhat about her shoes?โ€

Only then did the assistant notice Rachel was barefoot. โ€œRight! Iโ€™ll go grab a pair.โ€

She came back with a pair of silver, rhinestone-studded heels that were about two inches high.

Rachel tried them on. โ€œThey fit perfectly.โ€

โ€œGreat. Letโ€™s go,โ€ Tyler said flatly and walked to the counter.

โ€œI can pay for these myself!โ€ Rachel hurried to stop him, but he blocked her with an elbow.

โ€œIf youโ€™re going to insist, why donโ€™t you also cover the sales assistantโ€™s overtime fee?โ€ he asked while nodding at the tired-looking woman yawning in the corner.

Rachel paused, glanced over, and silently put her wallet away. She figured she could just transfer the money to Tyler later. After all, she had his banking details and could perform a digital transaction.

Tyler signed his name quickly and with force.

Once they got back in the car, they headed straight for Neon Bar.

By then, the nightlife was in full swing. Rachel didnโ€™t like being in the spotlight, so when she spotted a quiet corner, she pointed at it.

โ€œHow about over there?โ€

โ€œOkay.โ€

Tyler raised his hand to get a waiter and opened a tab.

Halfway through, Rachel needed to use the restroom.

Tyler glanced over and asked a question.
