Tyler softened his tone. โIf you want my help, sure, but I do have one condition.โ
Rachelโs eyes lit up instantly. โName it.โ
At this point, if Tyler was willing to help her, sheโd agree to just about anything.
โYouโll sign an agreement. For the next year, youโll be my hypnotherapist and my personal assistant. That includes making coffee and handling all the mundane stuff.โ
It wasnโt that big of a deal for Rachel. But a year? She didnโt even have a week to spare; she needed to leave soon. Still, if she said no, the opportunity might disappear in a flash.
Considering how cold and stubborn Tyler could be, the fact that he was even offering was rare enough to make hell freeze over.
Tyler saw her hesitate and frowned. โWhat? You need to think about such a small request? Are you afraid William might find out?"
Rachel didnโt dare admit it was because she had plans to disappear. Even if she signed the contract now, itโd be nothing more than an empty promise.
She hadnโt fully processed what Tyler had said. She just nodded.
โYeah.โ
The next second, Tylerโs eyes dimmed, and he slammed his coffee cup down on the table with a sharp clack. โMs. Lloyd, if itโs too much of an inconvenience, letโs just forget this ever happened.โ
Rachel panicked. โNo, thatโs not what I meant. Iโll do it.โ
Tyler turned slightly and eyed her carefully. โAre you sure?โ
โYes.โ
Rachel couldnโt afford to care anymore. As long as Tyler agreed to help, everything else would fall into place. Once she was gone, heโd never find her anyway. Where she was going was strictly confidential.
Whatever mess came after, someone else could clean it up.
Tyler smirked.
โThereโs a copy of the contract on the desk in the upstairs study. Sign it. Itโll be effective starting tonight.โ
โWhat?โ Rachel froze. That meant Tyler had already planned this in advance.
Before sheโd even made up her mind, and before sheโd even come to him for help, he had already seen where everything was going.
Everything was playing out exactly the way heโd expected.
A cold chill ran down her spine.
Was this man some kind of god? How could he be one step ahead all the time?
Rachel knew better than to ask. This was just Tylerโs experience and foresight at work, and her own stupidity had gotten her here.
She took a deep breath and slowly stood up. She walked toward the study upstairs.
Sure enough, on the desk was a document with โContractโ printed neatly at the top. Tyler was meticulous when it came to paperwork.
Chapter 249
The terms were written clearly, but what caught Rachelโs eye was the final line.
โAny breach of contract is at yourโฆ OWN risk.โ
There was no explanation of what those consequences were, but the words alone were enough to make her nervous.
She felt a twinge of regret. What would Tyler do if she broke the contract?
For a moment, she almost backed out. If there was one thing that was clear, it was that Tyler Hunt was not someone anyone wanted to cross.
But there was no turning back now.
Rachel picked up the pen on the desk, hesitated for a second, then quickly signed her name at the bottom.
Downstairs, she handed the signed contract to Tyler.
โIโve signed it. I hope you can act quickly. The day after tomorrow is an auspicious day. Itโs the best time to move my motherโs grave.โ
