Her Exit 249

Listen to this chapter:

Tyler softened his tone. โ€œIf you want my help, sure, but I do have one condition.โ€

Rachelโ€™s eyes lit up instantly. โ€œName it.โ€

At this point, if Tyler was willing to help her, sheโ€™d agree to just about anything.

โ€œYouโ€™ll sign an agreement. For the next year, youโ€™ll be my hypnotherapist and my personal assistant. That includes making coffee and handling all the mundane stuff.โ€

It wasnโ€™t that big of a deal for Rachel. But a year? She didnโ€™t even have a week to spare; she needed to leave soon. Still, if she said no, the opportunity might disappear in a flash.

Considering how cold and stubborn Tyler could be, the fact that he was even offering was rare enough to make hell freeze over.

Tyler saw her hesitate and frowned. โ€œWhat? You need to think about such a small request? Are you afraid William might find out?"

Rachel didnโ€™t dare admit it was because she had plans to disappear. Even if she signed the contract now, itโ€™d be nothing more than an empty promise.

She hadnโ€™t fully processed what Tyler had said. She just nodded.

โ€œYeah.โ€

The next second, Tylerโ€™s eyes dimmed, and he slammed his coffee cup down on the table with a sharp clack. โ€œMs. Lloyd, if itโ€™s too much of an inconvenience, letโ€™s just forget this ever happened.โ€

Rachel panicked. โ€œNo, thatโ€™s not what I meant. Iโ€™ll do it.โ€

Tyler turned slightly and eyed her carefully. โ€œAre you sure?โ€

โ€œYes.โ€

Rachel couldnโ€™t afford to care anymore. As long as Tyler agreed to help, everything else would fall into place. Once she was gone, heโ€™d never find her anyway. Where she was going was strictly confidential.

Whatever mess came after, someone else could clean it up.

Tyler smirked.

โ€œThereโ€™s a copy of the contract on the desk in the upstairs study. Sign it. Itโ€™ll be effective starting tonight.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ Rachel froze. That meant Tyler had already planned this in advance.

Before sheโ€™d even made up her mind, and before sheโ€™d even come to him for help, he had already seen where everything was going.

Everything was playing out exactly the way heโ€™d expected.

A cold chill ran down her spine.

Was this man some kind of god? How could he be one step ahead all the time?

Rachel knew better than to ask. This was just Tylerโ€™s experience and foresight at work, and her own stupidity had gotten her here.

She took a deep breath and slowly stood up. She walked toward the study upstairs.

Sure enough, on the desk was a document with โ€˜Contractโ€™ printed neatly at the top. Tyler was meticulous when it came to paperwork.

Chapter 249

The terms were written clearly, but what caught Rachelโ€™s eye was the final line.

โ€œAny breach of contract is at yourโ€ฆ OWN risk.โ€

There was no explanation of what those consequences were, but the words alone were enough to make her nervous.

She felt a twinge of regret. What would Tyler do if she broke the contract?

For a moment, she almost backed out. If there was one thing that was clear, it was that Tyler Hunt was not someone anyone wanted to cross.

But there was no turning back now.

Rachel picked up the pen on the desk, hesitated for a second, then quickly signed her name at the bottom.

Downstairs, she handed the signed contract to Tyler.

โ€œIโ€™ve signed it. I hope you can act quickly. The day after tomorrow is an auspicious day. Itโ€™s the best time to move my motherโ€™s grave.โ€
