Listen to this chapter:

โ€œAlright, Iโ€™ll go make it now,โ€ Rachel said.

Once Tyler saw Rachel head into the kitchen, the tension in his body finally eased. Ray suddenly barked and leapt onto him. Caught off guard, Tyler couldnโ€™t dodge in time and took a direct hit to the groin. His expression changed drastically, and his back curled instinctively as he clutched himself with a grimace.

He glared at the barking Ray with a voice full of restrained fury. โ€œIf you end up doing permanent damage to me, I swear Iโ€™m turning you into stew tomorrow.โ€

Startled, Ray shrank back and tucked his head like a scolded child.

Tyler stayed hunched over for a while, trying to suppress the sharp pain. He knew exactly why Ray had reacted like that. In all these years, the dog had never once seen him with an erection. After all, there had never been any women around him.

But just now, Rachelโ€™s actions had genuinely stirred something in him. Ray mustโ€™ve thought something had gone wrong with his master.

Tyler rubbed his temples and sighed to himself. Fortunately, he had enough self-control.

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Rachel was making coffee, but her thoughts kept circling back. Why hadnโ€™t Tyler reacted at all earlier? She remembered how intense it had been the last time heโ€™d been drugged. Compared to that, this time heโ€™d been completely unmoved.

With no one else to turn to, she texted Cecilia.

Cecilia replied almost instantly. โ€œ[You got that far and Mr. Hunt still didnโ€™t react? If thatโ€™s the case, are you sure heโ€™s not into guys?]โ€

Rachel stared at the message in shock. But the more she thought about it, the less sense that made. Tyler just didnโ€™t seem like the type.

Another message from Cecilia came through. โ€œ[Okay, then thereโ€™s only one explanation left, but Iโ€™m warning you, itโ€™s going to hurt a little.]โ€

Rachelโ€™s nerves were already frayed. โ€œ[What?]โ€

Cecilia sent a sighing emoji. โ€œ[You just donโ€™t turn him on.]โ€

If a man showed zero reaction when a woman literally offered herself, it meant one of three things: He was either into men, had problems getting an erection, or simply wasnโ€™t interested.

With the first two ruled out, only the last remained.

Rachel felt her heart sink. The realization was oddly painful. On one hand, she needed Tyler to go along with her plan so she could reach her objective. On the other hand, she had hoped Tyler wouldnโ€™t be interested in her so she wouldnโ€™t have to go all the way.

Chapter 248

Realizing sheโ€™d been in the kitchen long enough, Rachel composed herself and brought the coffee out. As she walked into the living room, she saw Tyler slouched on the couch, hugging a pillow with a sour look on his face. Her first thought was that he mightโ€™ve pulled his injury again.

She quickly walked over and gently tugged his arm. โ€œYou shouldnโ€™t be leaning back like that. Your backโ€™s still healing. You need to sit up straight.โ€

Tylerโ€™s expression changed, and he pulled away. โ€œIโ€™m fine. Donโ€™t touch me.โ€

Rachel immediately realized sheโ€™d overstepped. Tyler hated being touched. โ€œSorry, I was just worried about your injury.โ€

Tyler turned a bit to the side and took a sip of the coffee. To his surprise, it was actually quite good.

Seeing his brow relax slightly, Rachel figured the coffee mustโ€™ve been to his liking. Still reluctant to give up, she hesitated for a moment before trying again.

โ€œMr. Hunt, about what we discussed earlierโ€ฆโ€
