Chapter 251
Yale shut the car door and walked into the apartment with a document. He placed it on Tylerโs desk. โMr. Hunt, hereโs the finalized draft you requested. It can be published tomorrow.โ
Tyler skimmed through the pages and nodded. โOkay. Post it after midnight tonight.โ
It was a piece about him and Yvette, worded carefully to suggest the Lloyd family and the Hunt family were in talks but not officially involved. This way, Rachel would be completely cleared of suspicion.
Yale nodded slightly. โIf thereโs nothing else, Iโll be heading out. Ms. Lloyd is still waiting outside.โ
As Yale exited the apartment, he couldnโt help but wonder if Tyler really liked Rachel. Why not just say so? Why did he go through all this trouble behind the scenes?
Tyler had specifically asked him to deliver the document just so he could give Rachel a ride. Tyler had never said it outright, but after working with him for so many years, Yale knew exactly what that meant.
There was a digital copy of the document. He couldโve easily emailed that instead of making a trip over. The message was clear. When Yale walked outside, he nodded politely at Rachel.
โSorry to keep you waiting. Letโs go.โ
โOkay.โ Rachel let out a sigh of relief. It was a stroke of luck that Yale had showed up. Otherwise, sheโd have had no idea how to get back. After getting into the car, Yale handed her a bottle of water.
โHere.โ
Rachel had been feeling a bit thirsty after the strawberry cake, but hadnโt dared say anything while at Tylerโs place. Now, this water felt like a godsend.
She took it. โThanks.โ
After twisting the cap open, she took a few gulps. Her dry throat finally felt soothed.
Yale drove her back into the city. Cecilia was already waiting for her at Starfield Plaza. Yale pulled up outside.
Rachel got out of the car and politely thanked him.
โThank you for the ride.โ
โNo need for thanks, Ms. Lloyd.โ
He wasnโt joking. If anything happened to Rachel under his watch, he was sure Tyler would fire him on the spot.
After watching Yale drive off, Rachel turned to find Cecilia. Cecilia only had a vague idea of what had gone on. Rachel had barely given her any details over WhatsApp.
Rachel smiled as she walked over and naturally looped her arm through Ceciliaโs. โCome on, Iโll show you your new place.โ
โNo way. Are you guys really going to rent me that place? And at such a low price? It feels too good to be true.โ Cecilia still felt like she was dreaming.
Rachel grinned, โYou thought I was joking? Come on.โ
The apartment William had bought wasnโt far from there. It was only a short walk away, and the area was in the business

district, making day-to-day shopping convenient. Rachel slotted the key into the door, twisted, and opened it.
Sunlight spilled through the windows, filling the space with warmth. The place was bright, stylish, and decorated in a modern, minimalist style. Compared to the places Cecilia had rented before, there was a world of difference.
Ceciliaโs eyes widened as she looked around.
โI canโt believe I actually get to live in a place like this. Rachel, are you sure you and Mr. Lewis agreed on this?โ
โYeah. Donโt worry. I brought the lease contract. All you have to do is sign it. Each month, youโll just transfer the rent to this account.โ
Rachel handed her a slip of paper with the bank details.
Cecilia glanced at the rent and practically choked. โYโYouโre only charging me one grand? This place should cost at least seven grand a month!โ
That, too, was being conservative. It was in the business district. Cecilia was only making the lowest estimate.
Rachel had other things to deal with now, and her clock was ticking.
Just as Rachel got to the door, she ran right into William. She froze in place, stunned, unable to move as she just stared blankly at him.
Even Cecilia was startled by his sudden appearance. She hadnโt expected William to be standing right outside the door.
โMr. Lewisโโ
William stood there with a bouquet of red roses. There was an affectionate smile on his face as he walked up to Rachel and raised his hand to make a gesture.
