Listen to this chapter:

Tyler sneered when he heard that. He found it hilarious.

"William really is like a rabid dog. He's just looking for someone to sink his teeth into."

Even Yale couldnโ€™t help chiming in. "Exactly. After all, heโ€™s been with Ms. Lloyd for seven years, and he canโ€™t even trust her. Heโ€™s acting like sheโ€™s the cheating one. What about himself?"

"Mr. Hunt, thereโ€™s one more thing. Word is, Samanthaโ€™s pregnant. The reason William suddenly left the hospital today was because she wasnโ€™t feeling well."

Tyler let out a cold chuckle. "He really lives up to his reputation as Yurelia Cityโ€™s Most Devoted Man. His wife is lying at deathโ€™s door, and heโ€™s rushing off to check on his side chick? Calling him an animal is too generous."

He rubbed his brow and began murmuring to himself, "I used to think when I gave him that chance back then, maybe heโ€™d actually treat her right..."

Yale turned his head slightly. "Mr. Hunt, what did you just say?"

Tyler snapped out of it. His fingers tapped idly against the car window. "Heโ€™s trash now. Thereโ€™s no point in protecting his dignity anymore. Might as well do this for Melanie, wherever she is now."

Tyler leaned forward and whispered a few things in Yaleโ€™s ear.

Yaleโ€™s face went pale.

"Mr. Hunt, if you go through with this, the Lewis family is really going to fall apart. And if Gerald finds out it was your doing..."

Tyler didnโ€™t seem the least bit concerned. He smirked with that devilish charm of his. "So what? At worst Iโ€™ll take a beating. Not like I havenโ€™t before."

Yale let out a long sigh. "Are we still heading over there tonight?"

"No. Just send someone to keep an eye on things. Me staying there would be inappropriate."

With that, Tyler leaned back, closed his eyes, and massaged his temples.

Back at the hospital, Yvette had just returned to the ward. Sasha immediately rushed over and grabbed her arm.

โ€œSo? How did it go with Mr. Hunt? Any progress?โ€

Yvette looked completely dejected. Her expression was awful, and she yanked her arm away. โ€œWhat progress? Heโ€™s completely shutting me out! And he said all kinds of awful things. Mom, I really donโ€™t think Tyler likes me at all.โ€

A sudden thought came over her, and panic began to set in.

Sasha quickly tried to comfort her. โ€œWhat nonsense is that? If he wasnโ€™t interested in you, why would he even agree to a scandal with you? Donโ€™t forget, youโ€™re the first woman to ever be linked to Tyler in the tabloids!โ€

Even if it was just a rumor, the weight of it was undeniable to the elite women of Yurelia City.

This was Tyler, a man with a spotless record when it came to women. Just being rumored to be with him already put Yvette in the top tier of wealthy heiresses.

Yvetteโ€™s gaze drifted to Rachel, who still lay unconscious in the hospital bed. โ€œI just canโ€™t shake the feeling that Tyler didnโ€™t agree to the rumor because of me.โ€

Sasha picked up on her implication right away. โ€œAre you saying Tyler only went along with it because of Rachel?โ€

โ€œYeah. That night, she showed up at Tylerโ€™s house really late. I think once William arrived, Tyler pulled me in lastโ€“minute to help cover things up. Otherwise, she wouldnโ€™t have been able to explain herself to William.โ€

Sashaโ€™s expression darkened as the pieces clicked together. She glanced at Jim and scoffed. โ€œI told you, Iโ€™ve always said there was something off about Rachel and Tylerโ€™s relationship. You just never believed me. Well, look now.โ€

Jim, however, still firmly believed in Rachel. The way he looked at Sasha made it clear he didnโ€™t approve of what she was saying.

โ€œDonโ€™t twist things like that,โ€ he said. โ€œBack then, Melanie saved Tylerโ€™s life, and Rachel has known him since they were kids. To me, Tyler treats Rachel like a little sister. Youโ€™re reading way too much into it.โ€
