Tyler sneered when he heard that. He found it hilarious.
"William really is like a rabid dog. He's just looking for someone to sink his teeth into."
Even Yale couldnโt help chiming in. "Exactly. After all, heโs been with Ms. Lloyd for seven years, and he canโt even trust her. Heโs acting like sheโs the cheating one. What about himself?"
"Mr. Hunt, thereโs one more thing. Word is, Samanthaโs pregnant. The reason William suddenly left the hospital today was because she wasnโt feeling well."
Tyler let out a cold chuckle. "He really lives up to his reputation as Yurelia Cityโs Most Devoted Man. His wife is lying at deathโs door, and heโs rushing off to check on his side chick? Calling him an animal is too generous."
He rubbed his brow and began murmuring to himself, "I used to think when I gave him that chance back then, maybe heโd actually treat her right..."
Yale turned his head slightly. "Mr. Hunt, what did you just say?"
Tyler snapped out of it. His fingers tapped idly against the car window. "Heโs trash now. Thereโs no point in protecting his dignity anymore. Might as well do this for Melanie, wherever she is now."
Tyler leaned forward and whispered a few things in Yaleโs ear.
Yaleโs face went pale.
"Mr. Hunt, if you go through with this, the Lewis family is really going to fall apart. And if Gerald finds out it was your doing..."
Tyler didnโt seem the least bit concerned. He smirked with that devilish charm of his. "So what? At worst Iโll take a beating. Not like I havenโt before."
Yale let out a long sigh. "Are we still heading over there tonight?"
"No. Just send someone to keep an eye on things. Me staying there would be inappropriate."
With that, Tyler leaned back, closed his eyes, and massaged his temples.
Back at the hospital, Yvette had just returned to the ward. Sasha immediately rushed over and grabbed her arm.
โSo? How did it go with Mr. Hunt? Any progress?โ
Yvette looked completely dejected. Her expression was awful, and she yanked her arm away. โWhat progress? Heโs completely shutting me out! And he said all kinds of awful things. Mom, I really donโt think Tyler likes me at all.โ
A sudden thought came over her, and panic began to set in.
Sasha quickly tried to comfort her. โWhat nonsense is that? If he wasnโt interested in you, why would he even agree to a scandal with you? Donโt forget, youโre the first woman to ever be linked to Tyler in the tabloids!โ
Even if it was just a rumor, the weight of it was undeniable to the elite women of Yurelia City.
This was Tyler, a man with a spotless record when it came to women. Just being rumored to be with him already put Yvette in the top tier of wealthy heiresses.
Yvetteโs gaze drifted to Rachel, who still lay unconscious in the hospital bed. โI just canโt shake the feeling that Tyler didnโt agree to the rumor because of me.โ
Sasha picked up on her implication right away. โAre you saying Tyler only went along with it because of Rachel?โ
โYeah. That night, she showed up at Tylerโs house really late. I think once William arrived, Tyler pulled me in lastโminute to help cover things up. Otherwise, she wouldnโt have been able to explain herself to William.โ
Sashaโs expression darkened as the pieces clicked together. She glanced at Jim and scoffed. โI told you, Iโve always said there was something off about Rachel and Tylerโs relationship. You just never believed me. Well, look now.โ
Jim, however, still firmly believed in Rachel. The way he looked at Sasha made it clear he didnโt approve of what she was saying.
โDonโt twist things like that,โ he said. โBack then, Melanie saved Tylerโs life, and Rachel has known him since they were kids. To me, Tyler treats Rachel like a little sister. Youโre reading way too much into it.โ
